Dear Friends of One Drop Design,

Many customers have been requesting a Novus that has two compartments.

We just released a new product to fill this request! It's called The Uniter. The Uniter is a short tube with a divider in it and threading on the top and bottom. It is designed so that bottom and top of a Novus can screw into it turning the Novus into a two-pocket storage container. You can see details and pictures on our Novus Add-On page and our products page:

http://www.1dropdesign.com/products.php
http://www.1dropdesign.com/products.php?pID=superNovus

The Uniter can even attach to either the top or bottom of a Novus Extender and then when you add your Novus to it you will have one large storage area and one small.

For those of you who already own a Novus, you can order The Uniter separately. If you don't own a Novus you can order both a Novus and a Uniter as a set called a Two-Pocket Novus. Both items are now available for sale on our website.

The uniter is an excellent product/idea! I've been carrying my novus with me for 6 months or so now and usually also carry a second storage container as well. I don't leave home that often , but when I do it's for a few hours or so and find myself requiring more than one type of mj. This'll be the perfect add-on for my novus so I can conveniently carry 2 kinds at once. :)
My cheque's in the mail.

Give it time Merlin. One Drop Design seems to me to be determined to produce everything the end user could possibly want in a portable grinder.

Greetings Friends,

At any given time we offer 10 different standard engraving designs for the Novus. These 10 evolve slowly over time based on what is selling. This process works and allows to offer the types of engravings that people want, but we also wanted more freedom to offer different choices more frequently. To this end we've been offering a Novus engraving of the month.

For March it is The Gecko (picture attached). You can find what engravings we offer here:

That's pretty cool, Duck. Any chance they could do custom work as well?

Hello,

I thought I might answer some of the questions that have come up here:

1. We most likely will not be adding a screen to our product for 2 reasons. The first is in the U.S. it is not worth the risk given the current political climate and laws. The second is that we find it doesn't really work all that well anyway. I'm curious to hear from you all why you would want to do this? Is it a "savings plan" of some kind? By the way, if you use our grinder/storage combo, pollen builds up naturally anyway because all the grinding is contained.

2. Yes we can do custom engravings and details can be found here:
http://www.1dropdesign.com/custom.php
That mostly covers having text engraved (initials, etc) but we can do other simple things like the standard engravings we offer. We have to evaluate each case to see if it can be done.

Duck, thanks for posting our E-Mail news updates. We appreciate that.

Peace,
David

Novus Engraving of the Month
The Novus engraving of the month for April is an Ankh (see attached picture). It is an Egyptian symbol meaning 'life'.

More information on the Ankh can be found at Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankh

Tip of the Month
Your Novus needs a little maintenance from time to time. The inner o-ring can get dry causing the Novus to squeak or become difficult to open or close. If you put just a tiny bit of cooking oil or vaseline on the o-ring it will keep your Novus opening smoothly and quietly.

We will be phasing out a couple of our standard engravings and replacing them with new ones. Most likely it will be Clock and Medical that are going to be replaced and we'll announce what the new ones are when they are ready. You can check our engraving selection any time here:

Mayhap the fine folks at One Drop Design might think of including other choices for lubricating the grinder.
Granted, most people either have cooking oil or vasaline at home, but both are prone to collecting dust and gunk, possibly starting a never ending cycle of greasing, degunking, regreasing, etc.
Possibly machine oil, WD-40 or something similar I think would work longer and not be so prone to collecting stuff.
Cooking oil can tend to gum up all by itself and I don't think that either that or vasaline is kind to O-Rings in the long haul.
Just my 6 sense,
Buddy

We use olive oil and never have any problems with dust and gunk collecting. The trick is to use a very small amount - it doesn't take much. I wouldn't WD-40 or anything that is dangerous to consume.

Thanks.
I didn't think of the consumibility part of it.
