was on my way to work this morning and not a mile from my apartment a deer came out of nowheres. was handing dreamgirl my coffee cup to hold on to and the bastard was right there about a foot from van. BAM. no time to try and miss it. the impact thru me into another lane. in case you are wondering there was no suffering....she died instantly. now i am royally screwed. no transportation to get to jobs, doctors, or even stores as i live about 20 miles from the nearest city.
so how was your day?

Deer Jerky!!
YUM!!
At least you're both OK.
It's amazing how much damage an animal can do to a vehicle!!!!
If it was a person, you would have sent them flying and could continue on your merry way! :)
It's full on Ibex season here, with little ones running all over the place.
A few months back, swerving to avoid one, I almost went over a cliff, so I'm driving real slow lately!!
Dreamgirl: 'Deer.'
Slater: 'What Honey?'
Dreamgirl: 'NO! DEER!!!!!!!'
VAN: SCREECH!!!!! BAM!!!!!! GROAN!!

thanks for all the great replies. no collision on the van....too warm to keep a deer for meat in this heat, it would be too wormy. we are both okay. my back is starting to get a little stiff as we speak.
pflover -i am so sorry to hear that you may have lost a close friend. it sux and i know by experience. all people that i grew up with and used to be tight with(which was only a handfull) have all abandonded me when they found out i was infected. at least we have our partners, right pflover. without dreamgirl ...dont even wanna go there. shes my sun and moon....now if i could get a little river and stream on the side i would not complain ;) ;)
buddyh- it defeitely didnt go down like that...but that was pretty funny the way you put it...thanks fer the chuckle.....but it happened that damn fast. snap your fingers fast, faster than if you drank a bottle of turbo lax and was trying to get to the potty, fast.
oopsie- glad i could lighten your day...i would say anytime but dont want to jinx myself.

I'm relieved to hear that you and Dreamgirl are ok, but sorry to hear about the van Slater. I hope you can find something good your way for a replacement.
Glad to hear you are ok...knock on wood I have not hit anything yet, but this is the area for it too....Last year one of the residents of this town hit a moose...she survived but broke her neck...hope you two are not too too stiff, and new wheel just come wheeling your way.

Its not your fault a deer got hit... It happens...
With comprehensive insurance - deer hits are covered...
It is included under comprehensive coverage...
How I know - I hit deer & scraped the guardrail - the insurance paid for the repairs...
