Hi all,

I germinated several eliote beans in anticipation of filling my three NFT tanks with them, but my mate and I have switched all our equipment and schedules around so that we will be working strictly from clones now.

Because of this new plan of action, I ended up with several plants that were a foot tall and no where to place them. So rather then simply bin them and waste the lives I had started, I planted them outside in my garden corner, and covered them with half of my Rottie's old transport box, the one he came to England from America in.

What I want to know is...do these plants have even the smallest chance of developing into the luscious ladies they are supposed to grow into even though they were planted early? I keep them protected from the frost by covering them at night and uncovering them in the daytime to gather the light, shouldn't they grow normally?

Is there anything I can do to help them succeed?

Thanks for your help!

I just went outside and took these pics of the little garden I have started outside. Just thought you all might like to see how I've done it. Simple as possibkle, easy as possible.

Any guidance would be appreciated folks. Thanks!

I think that it may be too cold still to grow to their capability so I think that they may become STUNTED

I can live with stunted, but will the potency be the same? I mean, if it's not going to be up to snuff when it's mature there isn't much point to continuing to care fro them ourtside then. I'll throw them away and be done with it. What do you think Marco?

I don't think that it will effect the potency just the yeild. A good way to keep them warm at night is to fill 2ltr bottles with Hot Water and place them around the plants so that they have some warmth during those COLD EVENINGS

Take Care and Peace

May if you put down a heat cable, like the ones you use on a roof, it will help to keep the root zone warm and as long as you cover them at night the cable will keep the plant and area under the cover toasty like a bedbug. Good luck. Just my 2 cents.

HC you would do better placing a bit of straw around the plant and also use some plastic buckets 1 for each plant,i noticed that the dog cover has vents in it that will let the frost in,we used to do this with all our garden veggies when mom would insist to plant and they kept them frost free.....this way the warmth from the earth cant escape and keep them girls warm....:)
