I have 48 and 80 Watt CF's.
They didn't come with any info and I can't find any.
Even on this very extensive lists.
I mean eventually I'll use them anyway, but being a slight info junkie, I'd love to find out more.
So, if anyone comes across info on 48 and 80 Watt Cf's, could you let me know?

Commercial Electric makes a 42w cf with 2600 lumens.
GE soft white 150 45w cf with 2900 lumens and 2700K.

you should keep your packaging...the ge bulbs I got have a 5 year guarantee and you can bet the 9 dollars I spent on each that i will take it back if it doesn't last 5 years...

I'm on the cali coast now and have large amounts of outdoor space in the back-yard. Problem? It's too damn cold here to sprout. I'm right on the coast and I now know what my firiend once told me. The coldest winter I ever spent was my summer in San Fran. I'm putting them inside under flo's starting.........................................

600 watt equivalent Fluorescent Bench Top Power Light...includes (2) 65 watt bulbs, 3-way switch, grounded outlet, and hanging chain...I paid 42.88 plus tax came to 48 and change total U.S.D. Will send pix as soon as my card -reader comes...I have no luck with tiny plugs and I broke the usb port on my camera. I have given up on the expensive to run, HID lighting. Right now my elec bill is more than I can afford, and this was the only option other than shutting my grow down completely. So far I haven't seen any negative effects yet it has only been a few days. I have a bunch of the 42 watters that Commercial Electric makes.... i got them for $15 dollars a piece at Home Depot, they work great for vegging and i did use them for flowering with success. :) I was jus running a setup simaler to yurs, same 42wt spirals from the depot, did a nice job in flower but the yields left a lil bit to desire, resin production on the other hand was awesome with 6 lights working. Was somthing i wanted to try jus so i did it, and i had some fun with it. One thing i leanred quik about CFL growing is that LST or topping will get you a better harvest due to the lack of light penetration...now its back to my 400 hps, daddy dont like when the medicin freezer becomes empty before the next yeild, thats really the only prob i had with CFL grows

then you could install some T5's (HO) as PP recommends above, they are great!

400. i was serious. a 400 is made for 3x3 to 4x4, i ran one in a 3x4 and was fine.
id thionk for usnder 300 you should get a 400 and hood set up. and then a good fan on top. i just bought a new vortex 452 cfm for 230. they are chepper online though. like 200. i hate doing returns online.

so im assuming its a 8 foot ceiling. so means you need min....about 200 cfm if its a sealed hood and filter in the line....roughly id go 250. i like more and a speed control.

3 x 6 is 18 square feet. Minimums are 30 watts per sq ft for vegging and 50 watts per sq ft for flowering. That means 540 watts and 900 watts.

50 watts per...relay. you think once you loose light from the hight it still has that amount...the way ive always done and have use a meter...is 1k min,...2k is what we most have and 3 k per square is bets,. and not many get that.

dont forget to deduct lumens for the inverse square law of loosing light over distance. it may get that 50 at the bulb...but i doubt on the floor it would. the numbers i have are what i get...not what the books say we get.
heat and all the other stuff that effects the distance changes all that. most of that is done without an environment around the bulb and a bulb alone.

numbers may have changed a but with new bulbs...but i doubt they have doubles in power.

need to take in the shape of the room as well and the shape of bulb. sure 600 is better but also to big for the narrow depth and may be to hot.
could shove a 100 in there but same thing...to hot.

I like the minimums of 3000 lumens per sq ft for vegging and 5000 lumens per sq ft for flowering.

Hey all. I just dropped by because, a couple years back when I visited I contributed to this post.

The way you are evolving, I recommend a 600watt hps with a hortilux enhanced red spectrum bulb on a 4' foot light mover for your flower room.

I would create a seperate space for a small veg area. use a 150watt Metal Halide or a few 45 watt cfl's.
I get great feminization from the whiter/bluer light of these veg lamps. That is why I do not like hps for flower. Less fem's!

Get an exhaust system going like suggested above, and you will be blown away by the major difference in yield.

The formula for exhausting your space is decide as follows. You must decide how long you want your exhaust system to take to clear your room of stale, hot, humid air, and refresh it with fresh air full of CO2,

Figure your room cubic feet. 3x6x8 (done above I know) 144cf.
So if you want it to take 3 minutes max to exhaust and replace air you would divide your room cubic feet by the minutes to refresh your room (cfm) which = 48

Which mean you can get the smallest canfan you can find for intake and exhaust, this will allow you to maximize your yield. A 150 or 250cfm fan will exhaust/refresh that room out quickly in 1-2 minutes.

I'll be putting up some pandafilm to keep light from leaking, as well as a couple of these little 160 cfm ecoplus I saw at the home depot. Description says "perfect for boosting air flow in long runs of ducting." but I'm sure it will do, as the space will be about half the size. I'll also have room for a veg space then.

Hi all. This weekend my girl friend and I went to Yeild of Dreams as I needed a few things I couldn't find elsewhere. While we were there we noticed a gently used grow tent for sale at a very good price so we bought it. The tent is 4x4x7.5 and we have a four light x 4' Sunblaster fixture with reflector that we will use in it, we also have two other 4' Sunblasters we are going to mount vertically and plan on adding another two 4 footers shortly after. I'm wondering how this set up will work. Being curious I'd like to try taking it from seed to harvest and see how it does.

My main motivation is due to the girl friend, she wants my little room in the basement for storage. Since the room is a little problematic in terms of temperature and ease of acess I'm not too opposed to this idea. The tent and lights just have to be able to produce adequately. I can put a 600w MH/HPS in the tent but I like the idea of the t5's being more manageable in terms of heat and energy consumption. What do you guys think?
