Randy Brush Update

Hello friends ,
I spoke with Randy for the second time this week and his spirits were up. He sends his love to his children and everyone who's life his story has touched.

I have agreed to keep everyone informed like I had promised many of you .

What outrages me and as should you........ Once he is moved from the jail into the prison system.. He will only receive ibuprofen for his debilitating conditions for pain. I would think that would be a serious violation of his rights ....to whom ever is responsible for making that judgment call I think they need brought out into the light.

The ACLU has been contacted and it is up to the law department on whether they will take his case. They will review it and look into its validity then decide. My local law enforcement thinks the ACLU will jump all over this. Way to harsh of a punishment.
Keep your fingers crossed.

I have also spoken with many judges/politicians who all 100 % agreed that Randy's case was WAY OVER sentenced and harsh. The report on those discussions will shortly follow

Please continue to pray for Randy and his children. This is such a difficult time for them all.

OPN leaders have also worked hard for Randy... Way to Go for anyone who is stepping up to help this patient in trouble.

I have a few more reports as promised to write. I will work on them this evening...

First I want to apologize for not reporting this sooner. My 26 year old daughter has needed my attention . So this had to wait briefly . Now I am back...

This was a call last week from Randy .. I have talked to him 3 times so far
Randy sends his love to everyone.... I asked Randy about how they were treating him in jail. Randy says they are being real good to him. That the jailers just shake their head saying he doesn't belong there. He is praying (which a blessing) He was in good spirits...

I asked about the food.. He sighed and said Its not real heart friendly..Randy has a very strict diet and
.. lucky for him his roomies in jail are heart friendly. They give him their fruits and veg .. Randy say's the prisoners are real cool with him too.

I sure do miss my buddy...

I sure hope he gets good C O's (guards) in prison system.... They exist... just hard to find..

He wants us all working for his release..... He wants us all telling everyone we meet about medical marijuana. and his case .... He wants lots of letters and he thanks everyone for the ones hes received.

Let him know a family has been broken because of this war on medical marijuana patients. life's has been devastated all because he grew 4 plants. for medical use .. Let him know it will cost ...many thousands... to house and maintain this man in the prison system.. Let him know how very sick the man is.. How his teenage son won state championship Spelling Bee just last month and is on his way to Washington.. Randy is not a criminal he just wanted to treat himself with a medicine thats safe. marijuana is safer than asprin... Fact : People have died from asprin . Has anyone died from natural form of marijuana ? FACT : No .
If we can get lots of calls or letters to Governor . . or call and write to Governor candidates we might have a shot at getting Randy shocked out of Prison ..

I have filled out and submitted the ACLU form for legal assistance. Hopefully they will jump all over this. Randy's being railroaded and the world needs to know! Judge C Ashley Pike said and I quote " He wants to sentence 1 million man years before he retires.. Randy needs out of prison and ACLU I believe can make that happen.

Randy is adjusting to prison life. He gets alot of respect! They know he doesnt belong in the system.... What a waste of tax payers money!

Randys kids are writing him now.... That warms his heart.

Wouldn't it be a fun thing if EVERYONE who reads this post would send Randy a card or letter? :D Since they would all go out this Monday, they should all arrive within a day or two of each other. This is the new addy of where Randy was moved too but I haven't heard from him since the move so I'm not sure if this is all you need to get him mail. It looks like a much better place from their website and there are lots of great things there for Randy to do even garden :D he could receive any MMJ articles printed off the internet before and I didn't see the same restrictions on mail at the new place so maybe he can even get the Ty mag I sent for him(or the guards if he can't have it). I can hardly wait for an update from Tonya when she gets back but I would bet we will be up to $3000. for Randy's defense fund, that girl can raise money and everytime she goes somewhere to speak we get about a grand in donations.

Randy was moved thursday afternoon and called Tonya and she asked me to post the new addy if you go look at the new prison he is listed there. Tonya will be back from New York tomorrow night, but give her a day or two to recooperate it takes alot out of her with how sick she is.

Just got the new address from Randy and folks, Randy's got a problem. I'm going to just quote from his letter.

"You and Tonya have done so much I hate to ask but if or when you have time send an email or whatever to Congressman Ted Strickland. Please mention my troubles to him and ask him to see if he can get my antidepressant Effexor XR (300 mg) back. I have been on this drug for a number of years. And after a few minutes of talking to the psyc at NCCTF he fecided to remove me from it. I had just had an increase in this med from the LORCI psyc and started to feel better. Now I don"t know. I believe they have done this to save money at the expense of my health...... I'm a little beside myself with worry, perhaps I'm beginning to feel the effects of the lack of meds. In any event I am silent without your voices. Let others know you can hear my cries for help."

I don't have his email, but you can just go to his web site. Letters carry more weight than emails. Phone calls (if polite) carry a lot of weight. I wonder how many other prisoners are falling victim to cost cutting? The first doctor ups his dosage, the second cuts him off completely! This is from an Effexor site:

"EFFEXOR XR may raise blood pressure in some patients. Your blood pressure should be controlled before starting treatment and should be monitored regularly. When people suddenly stop using or quickly lower their daily dose of EFFEXOR XR, discontinuation symptoms may occur. Talk to your doctor before discontinuing or reducing your dose of EFFEXOR XR."

I cant believe this. You people must get this poor man free, shame on your government for making him suffer like this. For the rest of the world this looks equally shocking as the Chinese persecution of Falun Gong. I really hope this mans torture ends soon and change comes with it. The fact that this is happening in Ohio, surprises me. I thought they were in the 21st century too. I can say no more.

Got a reply letter from Randy yesterday. So I know he got the letter I sent.
My wife Debbie is going to sit down and write Randy this weekend and mail it on Monday.

Randy waas rushed to the hospital last nite after complaining about abdominal pains. He suffered an attact of appendicitis and it recovering in his hospital room. Tonya will let me know more later!

Randy has been moved back to Lorain correctional...... This was best as Northcoast started mistreating him so we at NONORML and MMJ ACTION started calling to get him out of there.. well it worked..... Good job guys. The warden realized it would cost her money to have him so she agreed.........
