I posted this on OG way back when so I thought I'd re-post it since OG is all gone.
It's pretty simple. The bottom is cut off a 2 liter soda bottle and holes are melted or drilled in it around the center. This acts as an ice retainer and directs the smoke over the ice. A 2 foot peice of stiff wire is wrapped around the neck and bent so that it attaches to the hood over your stove. I used a natural gas supply line for a US water heater because it was available, clean and fit perfectly into the top of the bottle.
Once your contraption is built it's a snap to use. Just take a little hunk of nug and break it into small loose balls. Place the knives in the flame of your stove till they get just red hot. Now tap one of your nugs with a hot knife. If you've done it right the nug will stick to the knife with a minimum of wasted smoke. Now place the 2 knives under the bottle and press the bud between them. Be ready as a huge cloud of smoke will be produced almost instantly. Now toke!
