I found this at Home Depot, or as my husband calls it the Tony Stewart Store. They are tiny little time released balls. Some is 13-13-13 and the extra strength stuff is 15-15-15
Now I am a fertilizer dummy, so someone help educate me. Out of the three nutrients in the x-x-x equation, which is the one I need to concentrate on when I am focussing on general growth and which one is vital to the flowering stage?

that stuff is probably ozmocote, that is some nasty shit. i dont think time release is beneficial for short cycle grows.

Since most people have a tendency to overfertilize already, a time release fertilizer may only make it worse.
I prefer to only add nutrients mixed in with water so I have more control.

Yep, that stuff in a clear tube - Dynamite - is similar to osmocoted fertilizer.
It's all really 1-1-1 ratio...regular or xtra strength. Not the best for cannabis as slater mentions.
The problem is some chemicals used in growing your plants can cause all the ferts. to be released at ONE TIME! Using Hydrogen Peroxide causes a
a great deal to become released at one time as do many commercial nutes and additives.
The rule is: If you use a time release like osmocote or Dynamite...don't use other chemical nutes and use peroxide as little as possible.
BTW: Dynamite is pretty good on ornamental plants and flowers..
But it's short on minerals for heavy feeders like tomato's and peppers (add epsom or cal-mag).

first of all, thanks for all the info and the education.
And for the record, with a timed-release product, I don't add additional ferts to my plants. I'm still in an experimental stage, even as long as I've grown (which really isn't that long)
I'll keep ya'll posted with pix:D

What do you guys think would be the best fert that can be purchased at Home Depot, K-mart...sort of stores. If you had a choice between lets say Peters and Miricle grow non time released? Or, would using their Alaskan fish poop be better?

I've not used peter's , or at least I don't think I have. I have been a miracle user for as long as I can remember--for pot and other stuff too. Mostly because it's the first thing I come to in the store. But I am trying to get a good fert that is more tailored to the nutritional needs of my babies.
