Raton

I want you to tell me where to go. Really; that’s all you have to do to win this contest.
The prize, this time around, will be this nice little glass hash pipe. http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic.php?u=6773uEy8S&i=892576
The challenge is to tell me where you think I should go to ‘get away’ and why I should choose that spot. City, country, natural area, outer space…there are no limits. 420 words or less, as usual.
The catch is that you can’t choose your home or any place you have lived before.
That’s it. Regular contest rules apply. Contest ends July 31.
I know some of you have wanted to do it for a long time. Here’s your chance...tell me where to go. :p

Oh, but I don't think you should go anywhere physical...only inside.....
learning to 'let go' and just 'be'
ceasing to grasp any attachment
a vacation for the spirit
I wish you well.

Seek yourself and innerpeace in the middle east my friend. Return to the roots of civilization, visit Zion, and walk among the babylonians. Clear your head and bask in the peace.

Imo you should go to the Grand Canyon in the springtime. What a fantastic place to gaze out into the vastness of the canyon and realize that you (and all of us) are a part of such splendor and grandeur. Plus, in the spring, life is renewing and growth is taking place. It kinda puts our being here into perspective. ;)

Where to go to ‘get away’? That’s easy; an island.
The right island has everything that you need and nothing that you don’t. Because of the visibility offered by being higher than the surrounding water, intrusions can be anticipated (and avoided?) well in advance. There is a feeling of ‘ownership’ and comfort that comes with knowing every part of a place…islands, and their distinct boundaries, make that easier to accomplish than most other places.
Now, should it be an island on a small lake in Northern Ontario? An atoll in the South Pacific? Maybe one of those palm-covered Caribbean islands? It doesn’t matter; whatever suits your tastes. It could even be an ice floe in the Arctic Ocean. Just pick an island and go…you’ll be happier before you know it.
I am not trying to enter my own contest, but sometimes I write things in my head while I am out walking. This was one of those things. The best way to stop thinking about them is to write them down.
(My entry would be disqualified anyway because I did not state that I have read the rules.) :p

I think you should go to the most beatiful place in the world! HAWAII :)
Hawaii has all the things we as creative souls love to see and hear when on vacation or just trying to getaway. Hawaii has many beaches with beatiful breathe taking views of the ocean and sky. When your gone and on vacation all you want to do is realx and get away to somewhere where the only words you need to know to get along with hawaiians is alloha! Also for the adventurer in some of us you can get a tour guide and go all around the island and other lil towns. Also dont forget about the valcanoe's! A lil scary for me but breathe taking indeed! Here in Hawaii you will have the most relaxing vacation of your life , just make your favorite drink and kick back on the beach with your favorite tunes and just let the good times roll.
this would be my getaway for you...
p.s. dont forget the meds!;)

What say you hitch a ride aboard the next space shuttle flight to the International Space Station Raton? It's quite easy according to a tv program I watched, all you have to do is sneak past security by pretending to be a technician and hide in the waste disposal unit under the sink. Once you're up there you're home free...or space free haha...as they won't be able to bring you home until the scheduled return. Anyway, you'll now be able to spend your time gazing out at the stars from the comfort of whatever bilge hold they've locked you in and contemplate the big mysteries of life, such as: birth, death, and whether a dropped cat would hover if it had a buttered piece of toast strapped to it's back? (don't forget your stash). Please take note of the bathroom arrangements as there's at least one person back here on earth who wants to know the answer to that one and good luck with re-entry (you'll need it).
I've read the rules.

I think you should visit Mt. Shasta. The mountain is beautiful, no matter what time of year it is and it is always changing. The mountain makes its own weather and lens shaped lenticular clouds frequently are seen hooked on one or both of its peaks. A glacier graces its flank and the skining in winter is fantastic. In spring and summer, the wide range of wild flowers catch the eyes of hikers while they snack on wild strawberries and blue elderberries. By late summer and early fall, there is an abundance of wild berries-- red and black huckleberries, wild blackberries, service berries, thimble berries and salmonberries. Late fall brings apple harvests and glorious colors in the deciduous trees that contrast with the sober green pines. The small town of Weed, on the flank of Mt. Shasta, has a college, a museum of local history and hosts the annual WESAC festival. The city of Mt. Shasta has an unusually large number of book store and "New Age" businesses. A fish hatchery has a small museum and hosts an annual quilt show (starts this week). Lakes and rivers provide swimming and fishing areas that are surrounded by breath-taking scenery. Both gold and opals can be found in the area. Geologists will be fascinated by the volcanic rock formations. Biologists are likewise enchanted by the wide variety of microclimates that provide a varied wildlife experience. High desert sage and bitter brush can give way to ferns and pine forest in the space of a few 100 yards. Mount Shasta is known world wide as a sacred mountain. Many books have been written about this mystical mountain, but none come close to describing it. It is worth the visit.
