My doc filled out the special diet forms that disability has now put out. These forms are ridiculous, as they even ask, under the 'malignancy' column, the doctor to estimate how much weight the patient would lose if they didn't get this special diet allowance. Bless his heart, my doc went ahead and filled out such ambigous forms for me. He put me in three different categories besides the maligancy one, so that there is no way I can get turned down.

I was due some good news and just wanted to share it. I don't know how much the special diet allowance will be yet, but at least I know it will be coming.......

Unfortunately, he refused to sign the Exemption papers. It seems I cannot find any doctor to do that dastardly deed!:(

Way to go on the good news! Sometimes hanging in there does pay off! Keep pushing on the other papers! Persistance pays off as well!

Hi Co Co,

Hard ?, depends on how many categories the doc thought you qualified for!

I think $250.00 is the limit? But if he signed it you'll get something:) My guess, and its just a guess! you should get around $242.00 Now! that's just based on what you tell us about your health:)

Binky, my hands shook so bad that I had trouble logging in. If I get that amount, wow, that is a fortune to someone living on the edge like me. Holy. If that amount is right....well, I guess it's like winning a lottery........it's for a year, but that is quite a bit of money in a year for someone like me. (I guess new papers have to be filed each year)

It's about time they started giving back what the M. Harris revolution took away a few years ago, he made poor and sick people desperate.

And yes, new papers will have to be filed every year. :)

Yes, Binky, 'desperate' is exactly the right word! I have sold many possessions to stay afloat. You come to a point where you realize you are running out of stuff to sell and soon you might have nothing. This surprise came at exactly the right time. I was getting to the 'desperate' stage.
I wonder if we will ever overcome the mess that Harris made?

I get the "special diet" allowance too. You will be getting an additional 250 dollars a month. The form only needs to be redone once every 2 years. The extra money has been a godsend. Congrats......now time to party!!!:D :D
