I have decided that effective Nov 30, 2006 all contests will come to a close as will the contest forum. The only contest that will be run in 2007 will be through TREATING YOURSELF MAGAZINE.

Feel free to subscribe online at http://www.magamall.com if you live in North America.

If you don't want to subscribe then you can go to Chapters / Indigo or your local news stand/book store who also sell High Times, Cannabis Culture, Skunk, Weed World

It will be a sad day when the contests end and I'm sure you have valid reasons.
With much respect,

I'm sorry to see the end of the contests; they had been a means of helping out people in need. But I do understand that sometimes it just isn't possible to do everything we'd like to help people out. :(

Well who knows maybe we will still have 1 contest and that will be for subscriptions. Subscribers who have friends here at TY can also PHOTO COPY the contest page and give it to their friends here at TY who can't afford to purchase the magazine.

This also enables us to concentrate on helping 1 another become self seficient so that we can elliminate the Black Market

self sufficiency is a mountainous task, but it begins with the posession of a few scraps of genetic material.... i for one, will never be out of seeds again! the contests didnt necessarily go to the most-needy people, and i think can create the impression among the needy that they can go on WITHOUT becoming self-suficient by relying on kindness and blind luck... why did you close the contests anyway?

I could see that it was on the cards Marco and quite understandable given the costs and the demise of TY's storefront. Practicality always has a way of asserting itself regardless of good intentions. I love the contests but it's the maturity, friendship and support of TY's members that make it so unique. There's simply no other place like it that I've found. So a shame it is, but no biggy.

Good bye,I will miss the contests very much,I truly enjoyed the sometimes winning of something special that i could not afford,I filled out the crossword type contest but have not sent it in,I did not know a black market exsited concerning TY??I guesse the good ole days are a changing ,a new wind is a blowing and no one knows where we are going?I know one thing the last issue will be my last as i can not afford it anymore everything is skyrocketing with this damn war, from food ,to clothes .so it is with a heavy heart but fond memories of the good things in the past,I hate the shit that has happened to change such a beautifull dream.Big brother has handcuffed us in chains of opprsesion even tho they say we are free!!I thank all the sponsers for all they have done to give us hope and dreams of winning something we are in need of that spelled Compassion!!peace sincerly E.J:confused:

It's a sad development....I've only just recently started entering contests....they will be missed. But if it's the best thing for TY collectively, then so be it!

I have decided to go along with the majority of the vote and allow WINNERS to PAY the shipping costs.

If after 3 months we still have an issue with the WINNERS not sending in their shipping fee then I will have NO CHOICE but to SHUT DOWN ALL CONTESTS

I think it's cool that TY had contests at all. It's too bad it isn't able to continue but if it is the best thing for TY then we should all be supportive. I will miss reading some of the whacky questions and responses, it was quite colorful indeed. Hopefully the posts will still be available for memory's sake.

At least there will still be something in TY magazine...something is better than nothing.

Marco;

While thinking about this aspect of winners paying for the shipping, it came to me that you could indicate the approximate shipping cost in the contest description.

Or, alternatively, you could determine the shipping cost to perhaps Vancouver, BC and Los Angeles CA for the items, and list this as the absolute shipping cost.

Any realized excess could be used to cover any realized shortages. You could calcualte any surplus at the end of each quarter, or year and determine if it should be used to support the site, or perhaps provide another prize.
