:) Don't have a Valcano but I won a VapirOne 3.0! (don't know if I did FSBook or FSBooks) Seems to be adaptable for use with a bag or hose....I won't know for sure until it arrives. Any one know for sure?

You can use both and it comes with a small water attachment, so it also works like a water vapoir (water pipe).
I have a Volcano and I love it!
It's still new to me and I am getting the hang of it very quickly.
I have noticed that, after using the unit, that my throat seems dry. Has anyone else noticed that effect?

Yes Roy that happens to all of us and not just from the Volcano. Vaping your meds will dry out your throat so it's best that you drink plenty of water / juice.

Is this forum for non volcano owners also?
I have tried them a few times, and found there's a learning curve, but when tweaked properly it's prob the best on the market so far.

Has anyone noticed any difference from 1 volcano to the other?

The NEW Volcano has a air filter and in my opinion weighs alot less but all in all I haven't noticed anything different in the quality of workmanship

That's the volc with the filter at the bottom? does the filter actually do anything? does it come up dirty after usage.
Well, I've said thanks before but I feel this is a good place for me to say thanks again.
I won a Volcano, here at TY, in the "Winnie the Pooh Contest" and I am learning how to use it better each day. There is a learning curve and I'm on it!
The other day I was using it and I forgot it was on and I went and watch TV for about 20 mins. When I returned the unit was very hot but still working very well. These things are built great!
I would like to get some tips from some TY folks, on these topics; how often does one clean the unit, what do you use to clean the unit, and how do you clean the unit?
I now understand why people say that these Volcano's pay for themselves over a short time frame because of the small amount of herb it take for the Volcano to do its job!
Well, thanks again to Marco and TY and I must say these units ROCK!!!!
Binky - The unit draws fresh air through the filter. Dust and etc are caught. Hence it will take some time for anything to visibly accumulate.
Roy - In the best case scenario, one should thoroughly clean the Volcano unit after every other session. I don't clean my volcano often enough (after 10-15 sessions). When I do clean, I use 99% isopropyl bath on all the metal parts. The ceramic parts of the mouthpiece & crucible, I just wipe down with an isopropyl damp rag. Not saying this is the best way, just that it works. I have some dexterity issues; this method is not too challenging.
Hope that's of some help to you, & that others will peep up, with new ideas for us all.

Thanks for your input Duck!
I'll give her a try.

not sure if others use the volcano as often but mine has 2190hours on it, which is 6months at 12hours/day on average never had a problem. I turn mine off only when not there. Whats the life expectency of these units??

I love my volcano to death ! It is on all the time I turn it off if I am not here.
I am up at weird hours so no sense in having it reheat when you desperately need a bag or 5.
I am currently using Afghani bullrhyder bud rub and indica oil.
Glass gives me a medical buzz to maybe mid shoulders while the volcano is great at a 3/4 body buzz that will relax me enough to reattempt activities or rest as it may be.
hehe Where are these volcano lounge hangouts....

The best vaper I've found is a homemade one. Use one of those 1920's-40's tip lighters. They have a heating coil that glows red like a car cig lighter. Put that over a clean glass pipe. Also, only use "freezer hash". That's made by sifting pot through a screen in the freezer.

I love my volcano. As a matter of fact, I am using it right now. I am hitting it heavy this morning with the volume of pain I have been given overnight.
It sure does help pain. I find faster, and more so, than joints. (However, I do enjoy a nice joint once in awhile) There is definitely a learning curve to using the volcano. I have used others' and noticed no difference except the size of their bag. :D I made a funny by the way.

I love the volcano but find i use more meds with it than normal smokeing simply for the fact that I am not coughing all the time so I can medicate more.
BTW does anyone else enjoy the great hash oil this thing makes. I love cleaning it and putting the cleanings into my hash pipe. Works great for night time meds. Lights out:D :D

The Volcano makes the oil. I just clean it out. There are 3 of us in the house who use the cano so it gets cleaned about every other week. After every cleaning there is proabbaly about a 1/4 to 1/2 gram of oil and hash.
We also cut the bags up when they are done and give them a quick iso wash. They make for some pretty good oil as well.

I've posted this in another thread, but felt it was appropriate here as well. For those who are unaware, the Volcano also is useful for vaporizing oils, keif, and hash. You will need specialty "liquid pads" sold by Storz & Bickel, they resemble Brillo pads that have been compressed into 1/4 inch (1/2 cm) disks. They can be found here:
http://www.storz-bickel.com/us_downld.htm#preisliste
look at the Pricing PDF file part #0334 "Liquid Pads Set" $6.10US + shipping.

Thank God for the Volcano is all I can say. Like right now, I am having bladder spasms and they hurt. The volcano will take it away, but I won't put roaches in it, (which I am out of anyways) I respect it too much...so I bought a gram on the street. Yummy. Volcano.:) Now just watch this pain float away! Then I will be able to get some blissful sleep. 12:16 omg...I am up late.
