Have looked for info on this strain and have found zilch..
Anyone know anything about it especially the length of flowering time.
I'm thinking it may be as short as 6 weeks??

Thanks Ali, maybe it's just a local thing as Detroit is not that far away.

I think you might be right on it being a local thing. I have never heard of it just the "New York City Diesel".

I have/had some Detroit City Diesel. i can not recall right off hand if I have not given them away! I believe that they were created by swan song seeds or good old rushman. Can't recall for sure. My guess would be that their growth pattern would be somewhat similar to Soma's NYCD?

I checked out Soma's NYCD and they show 10 weeks for flowering..
Guess I was way off the mark..

GT, you may be closer w/ your estimate than I. However, most strains go at least a minimum of 8 weeks. Please let us know what your opinion of the final product is! Thnx. Take care, be well and grow on...

I guess we'll know by week 7 to 8 by the trichs and then watch them closely from there.
Thanks for your input folks.

Time in flower depends on many things. 6 weeks is a very short amount of time.

I have never had a plant come in under 8 weeks and most of my Indica and Indica X plants take on average 9. The Sativas I'm growing , well they are a whole different situation, are a Pure Haze and I'm told they might take as long as 16 weeks!

Good luck!

Yes, I knew the 8 week rule of thumb and have always gone by that but have seen in print somewhere about a strain taking less time but can't remember where..
Anywho, it's always best to go by what the trichs are telling us..

I can believe that. I have one plant in particular that is into the flowering stage that I must take a picture and post it as it is purple coloured stems and flowers.
I am starting to use bloom fert on them now to try and increase bud developl.
It seems that they will indeed long flowering period even in the natural outdoors. I have a feeling these plants are going to be killer medicine.

I have the same feeling as you and I do believe that because they are outdoors, the final yield will blow you away, as well. Way to go and best of luck! Take care, be well and grow on....
