I thought I was in a place where dignity and freedom were important...BIG mistake. All I've found here in Alaska speaks the opposite, minus a select few. I've been flying my flag upside-down as a protest of distress for days now, and folks could care less what this means. With what Alaska is up to politically, personal freedom means very little politically. People pick fights in the street, hoping to make me pay for my views. I obliged one doughboy, and found fear in his eyes and heart. His woman spoke up and dragged him from harm's way. If this is the kind of place that smiles about these values, I'm definately in the wrong place...I've been arrested, on the 'word' of others for DUI, been exhonerated and set free (along with ALL of my monies posted for my freedom). I've been threatened with all sorts of horrific things like sewing my mouth shut, breaking my hands so I can't write, poisons to make me suffer for my ideals. I'm ready for something less threatening to my health...

Hey 37flthd, what did you expect...living in Hope, in Alaska? It's still a part of the U.S., therefore we are allowed to be mean and nasty to one another...aren't we? I've fought in a war for this countries freedom (?), and I've been spat on for my own personal beliefs. I've seen the inside of jails, been chased out of towns, and had my life threatened simply because I believe that Peace is better than war. My answer is to keep your eyes open and you'll find others, with minds similar to yourself. Keep your head up and keep your beliefs, or spread them, whatever the case may be.

Peace...j.b.
