Paper from the back of the foil you get in your cig pack. It actually works pretty good.

Oh lawdy, the things I have used over the years....but I'll go with (at least for us) was the most common way to smoke when the papers ran out or the bong got broken...lol. ;) We'd take a used toilet paper roll (or cut down a paper towel roll) and poked a hole in the side of the roll, then take some aluminum foil and molded that into a "bowl" that fit inside the hole in the side of the roll. After poking small holes into the foil, we'd load the "bowl" and light it...holding one hand over the end of the toilet paper roll and sticking our mouths inside the other end. Lots of dropped bowls, burnt shirts, and back then, popping hot seeds.....rofl ;) Guess that shows my age a bit......lol.

I Have Read The Rules
As much as I hate to admit to it ; I have tried the paper casing that is wrapped around the tampon itself & my ex-wife used to get mad as hell at me , so she would always make sure I had plenty of them at the house after that .
I have also used cigarettes and taken the tobacco out and used a thin pen to pack it back in and rip off the filter afterwards , talk about a slow & tideious project :)

Well, I'll go with the best and the worst I've done. The best has to be just a simple gravity with a 2-liter and the bottom cut out, some foil on top and all set. Then the worst is cutting out a portion of lunchbag to your liking and roll up...very harsh and I'm sure very bad on the lungs, also very difficult to get it sticking, will never do that again.
i have read the rules and done this meny times in the past used a apple and a bic pen and a small socket for a bowl as long as theres no oils on the socket it smokes nice with a apple flavor ....no if ya misses a spot of oil welll yukkkkkkkkkk ....lmao the things we do when we are young ....lol

Oh my goodness, I have made so many makeshift pieces it's not even funny. I'll just list the ones that actually worked ;).
A pipe fashined from aluminum foil-not bad actually.
A vaporizer made from a clear light bulb, a soda lid, and a piece of air tubing-I still use this now and then when I need my vape to be more 'mobile' than the Aromazap.
An aluminum can, dented on one side with small holes poked in the dent-worked but will blow out your lungs if not careful.
...and the worst thing I ever used but it worked in a pinch??? A paper clip with a bit of ganj held between the wire, light the ganj, bring the clip close to your lips and inhale-works great but imo a waste of good ganj.

How about a bucket bong made with a bucket, 2 litre bottle and some tinfoil, you cut the botom off the bottle, remove the cap. Make a screen over the top with tinfoil, add holes with a pin and then your meds to which you apply a lighter while pulling the bottle slowly from the bucket. The bottle becomes filled with smoke which you susequently inhale leaning over the bucket.

Warning -- Do not attempt this or any electrical repair without some kind of knowledge, safety equipment, experience, and a bit of luck.
Not sure if this really qualifies for when you run out of equipment -- but it is the best way for oil I have seen yet. While living in South Florida, we were fortunate enough to stumble across some rather large PVC pipes that had actually washed up on shore from a wrecked sailboat coming from up North. We needed a more efficient way to consume mass quantities, basically, the whole ' Mother of Invention " theory.
You find an old Lionel train transformer, or the like, one with an adjustable rheostat, a push button switch, some plaster of paris , a 110 male plug, some wire, a pen spring and a paper towel tube. And a disposable cup for a form.
Cut slits in bottom of cup and push male plug ends through - just a 2 pronger. Wire plug to switch which you have stuck through side of cup, and out near edge of top of cup -- which will end up being bottom later.
Fill cup with plaster, and once it is set-- turn it over, stretch your pen spring across the plug ends, and start experimenting with temperature settings -- start at lowest setting on transformer, or have plenty of pen springs on hand.....
Once you figure out where you are with temps-- you can start to smear on the goo, and enjoy some push button magic.

Tin foil formed around a pencil. Just like the one the guy in the move Woodstock made.

I have read the rules.
It was about 2 AM and we were driving along a central Pennsylvanian highway looking for a spot to stop and rest before continuing our drive. Exit sign after exit sign passed and none had any signs for a hotel, motel or even a campground.
We stopped at a gas station and asked for directions to the closest motel. We drove around and got lost trying to find it.
We finally found a country grocery store with a big parking lot. We had to sleep in the car so we figured this was the best spot. If we kept driving we ran a risk of getting into an accident or getting further lost.
Although we both felt tired, after about 10 minutes of trying to sleep neither of us could. We fished out an 1/8 that we had in the trunk and proceeded to check the entire car for rolling papers. Nothing.
So I left the car leaving my passenger still searching and I walked to the edge of the parking lot where a cornfield stretched as far as I could see. I looked down and caught in the security light from the grocery store I saw thick, tall blades of grass...wet from dew. I took 3.
I finally wrapped one of the wet thick grass blades around a pencil (the kind you get at mini-golf to keep score) I had. I covered it in saliva and held it tight. It was wrapped around with each wrap slightly overlapping the last. I let this thing dry over a heat vent for about 2 minutes. It wasn't sticking perfectly but I slid it off the pencil carefully and stuffed it with some broken up greens. I used the end of the pencil to stuff it in, keeping the shape of the grass-cigar with my curled hand. We managed to stuff it and I wet it again in my mouth. This time I heated it with the hot cigarette-lighter in the car until crispy and then lit it. We found that by holding it with both hands it would stay together and we managed to smoke about 2/3 of it before it became difficult to handle. The strong spicy herb taste covered the burning grass well. We fell asleep in the car after a nice chat and watching the stars through the sunroof. In the morning we awoke to the noise of grocery customers all walking by and looking at us funny. We got out of our car and went into the store to find some breakfast.
