I remember reading that it was good for plants and would give new life to wilting cut flowers, and my plant suddenly had yellow and wilting leaves. I thought it would help. Pflover told me it would make it go hermie! I took down the two (one root-bound couldn't hold on much longer, the other was fine and green one day and the leaves were all yellow the next) and they're hanging up to dry, but the third... do I need to take her down? is it an instant thing? I haven't heard back from pf. She just said I "may" have to take themt down. How can you tell when they go hermie?

Thanks.

PS: obvious or not, it's my first grow.

PF is right that is how they produce feminized seeds. If you let one of these hermies pollenate a female the seeds will produce mostly females(indoors under proper conditions), but can also produce hermies very easily under wrong conditions. I am new to breeding so I don't have all the specifics for you, sorry. Peace

I only had three plants, and I don't understand your response. It's not a matter of exposing females to hermies.

A week from harvest you really shouldn't be putting anything on them except water. The yellowing and wilting of leaves when getting close to harvest date is not only normal but is to be expected. Harvest your last plant when you think it is ready. Might want to flush with water first at least 5-7 days prior.

I ALREADY added silver colloidal.

Once.

Should the plant come down? She would have three weeks left.

Only one plant.

What were you attempting to do by adding it?
It's used primarily to force male flowers on a female plant.

I'm aware you already put it on. I don't know what the stuff is but I don't think I want to. Not a big fan of chemicals, too many as a youth I suppose. Flush it with lot's of water just to be safe, resume normal fert schedule and harvest as planned. Either it will go hermie or it won't. This late in flower shouldn't be too much a bother to keep an eye on it.

you can tell if it hermies you will see some little bananas popping out from the bud. I would let it grow if it was me.

Silver colloid solution is used to produce male flowers on a female plant for breeding "Selfed" seeds. (S1's etc.)

It only works as a repeated foliair spray on the flower producing sites.
And the concentration of silver is usually much higher than what is consumed for health reasons.

Watering plants with silver colloid infused water is a practice promoted by silver colloid manufacturers, as a "miracle water" or cure all.
It doesn't seem to help or hinder flowering plants or cause sex reversal when used as soil water.

I would avoid using it for your plants as it doesn't help their growth.

Thank you! I will let it go the rest of the way. The other two were only a week away anyway, could that really matter that much? But I will let the last one go the three weeks.

I'm glad to have that settled.

Thanks again.
