burning oil in vaporizer

So i made some oil from cleaning my aromed vapor bowl
How hot a temp do you need to vaporize oil?
Can you put it on a bud and vap or do you need some attachment.

With a vapolution I make an oreo of herb and oil or hash. SO far Ive had gud results, But the Oil is hard to work with. On others like the volcano I dont know.

do you do it at a hotter temp. does oil disolve or show that it is burned:rolleyes:

oil melts and you need something to melt it into.... bud works so will a few extra screens. oil will not vap all the way. it just gets much darker, more viscus, and smells spent (that smell tho i don't know how to describe other than acrid).

but if you do herb at 360 do you turn up temp for the oil to like 400?

I use oil in my Volcano on a regular basis. The Volcano ships with oil screens they resemble and tighter packed small brillo pad. They are placed in the receptacle and oil poured on top.

I prefer another method though, bud rub base, oil on top, and more rub to cover.

By far the best method and it goes far. On a 6 setting I get 20 bags easily.

i have an aromed and not sure if the temp setting needs to be closer to 400 degrees to make it work? My oil is from cleaning pipe so it is not real potent How much oil do you put in at a time?
Also got keif will it burn in vaporizer? It seems again you would have to turn the heat up.

Hehehe if done right it can be some of the most potent oil! it is essentially distilled psychoactive essence of cannabis.

a setting of 6 is probably closer to 350. 7 is closer to 400. anyway just try it.... you will figure it out as you go... if it needs more or less heat you will know pritty quickly. ;)

will you share your secrets. I just swish the alcohol around the bowl and stem for several minutes and then pour through coffee filter. then put on top of pot of boiling water and let evaporate and then scrap it is really dark.
I read someone said to keep same alcholol and clean bowl several times with same solution and then let evap.

Any help would be great.

I personally would not do the evap on a double boiler and would just use a fan instead but over all that is a sound method. if you save the alcohol like that other person suggested I would cover the bottle in foil and keep in a cool dark place to minimize degradation of the oil do to light. alcohol is one of the least stable storage mediums for cannabinoids. This is mostly do to light exposure.

Fans work great! I've evaporated a half gallon of 70% ISO, which takes much longer than 99% due to all the extra water, overnight using a fan. The trick is to evaporate in a vessle with a large surface area. it makes for a lot more scraping but it get's the job done faster and the resulting product is usually much less sticky. It's also good to evaporate in a low humidity enviornment. It's still importantto properly vent as the faster you evaporate it the higher the concentration of solvent in the air.

Air blowing directly across the liquid to the point of causing turbulance (little waves on the surface) will speed the process as well.

when cleaning a vaporizer bowl with alcohol is it smart to let it sit in alcohol for a long period of time or do you just swish it around and then filter. I get a small amount of oil by doing that. I am also thinking of cleaning bowl and keeping alcohol in sealed dark container and cleaning bowl several times over a month and then evaporating oil. would that work to get more. thanks for input

Just shake the iso until the whip and stem are clean then drain it out. I wouldn't let it sit for to long a time. Not sure how good that is on the hose.

I would think that keeping the iso/oil in a dark, air tight container and adding to it would work just fine. In the past I just used a deep plate and anytime I would clean the whip I would just strain it onto that plate and just keep layering until I was happy with the amount.

the oil is very dark and I not sure how potent it really is since I have no way to enjoy it solo.
How long do you wait to clean whip. I have been going several weeks but wonder if I should go longer. I vapor 3-4 times a day.
In old days we had some type of glass pipe that you heated from below and made oil burn with out direct flame. But that oil was light red and you cough every time. This stuff doesnt seem to have that flavor etc. If you saved it and then threw it in with a batch of Cannabutter would it increase potency much?
Friend just got a volcano so I will get to play with that to compare with aromed. Guess there isnt anyway to get oil from it?

My whip tells me when to clean it, lol. When little pieces start falling off the sides and get into my mouth, it is time to clean it. I have never cooked with it only smoked it. I usually smear it on some bud for out nightly smoke.

Quick question - Why do you filter the ISO through a coffee filter after it has been used to clean the whip? What difference does it make if the filter step is skiped?

The coffee filter is to get out the smaller particulates (plant matter) that have gotten onto the inside of the whip. You can pick up a gold permanent coffee filter for under $10 and it will last forever.

thanks for all the input and will try some of this in near future. Had a great super bowl vapor party with vapped remains bananna bread that had everyone laughing at commercials and jamming to prince at half time.

The aromed did its job as we kept enjoying everyones varieties with each one having its own unique flavor. I think several folks will be buying a vapor or has anyone tried the vapor lighter that doesnt burn your meds?

So did anyone else notice a few commercials were geared to space heads.

FEd ex moon comercial as well as one of cokes really seemed to be for super bowl stoners.
