My beloved childhood pet cat died a few months ago. It was really hard on us here. She was just in so much pain and not eating because her liver wasn't working.
A few weeks after she passed away, a stray black kitten turned up meowing outside our bedroom window one stormy night. And now we are stuck with the crazy kitten, though he is a sweety. I never thought I would get a new pet after my old one died, but it has made it a lot easier.

Its soooo hard Michah, I have had to put down a few in my life, you never get over it and you think about them. But the day comes when you think about them and a smile comes to your face instead of tears to your eyes.

My old cat is 17 and he limps when he gets up from a nap and the last few days he has been under the weather and sneezing, just the thought of losing him hurts the shit out of me.

Thanks to everyone for there kind words..champs in the ground now..my brother made a coffin for him and we wrapped him in his blanket and pillow with his favourite toy..thank GOD we found ground we could break through in order to give him a decent burial...

Hes no longer suffering..and when i close my eyes i can see him running just like the ol days...guess the healing begins...micah

Hey man sorry to hear about your loss :( I remember when i lost my pooch back in 2001. i had the dog since 1990 when i was just a young lad and when i had to put her down it was one of the most difficult things i ever had to do to this date because i basically grew up with this dog throught my childhood.

....All loss is hard to deal with that's why we morn....
But Champ is in your heart & in pictures... Waitting for you now...
I have loss many anmials, I remember them all, it's the new ones that bring in the New Joy...
the crazy things they do...the training you give them...the Love they give back....How they differ from the others you have had..
each one has there own mind & ways of learning.... I have an old girl of 14 who is on her way out...I can't put her down, not this one...
She had been a working part of my little farm, she can't see much, can't hear much but her nose still smells the bears, coons & deer when they get to close to the farm...
she still sings for her treats... & will go under the big spurce tree with the rest of those who have pasted before her...
The others look out for her,keeping her safe, she still slowly walks to the spring to keep us safe while we work...
Yet I know her time will not be long...She will be missed..:( Yet I know she had a great life, Cuz she was with me, Living in the Woods....
