Found out Friday that someone I knew was in a very serious accident that killed one person and sent the other to hospital with life threatening injuries. The passenger was killed instantly when he was ejected and rolled over top of by the truck as he wasn't wearing a seat belt. The driver was also ejected and was pretty screwed up and he will never live a normal life again.

Yep driver was drunk and he tried taking a corner WAY to fast and these are the consequences people have to suffer through. His girlfriend just had a child, he killed his best friend in this accident and is putting his whole family through hell.

He is not really a friend, just someone I know through my wifes work and I don't have any pity for the guy as he was driving drunk. When will people ever learn that drinking and driving is not the thing to do?????????? One dead and the other screwed for life as well as what the families have to go through. I lost a girlfriend and unborn child to a drunk a long time ago, but I still feel the pain. GRRRRRRRRRR

Dear Stripeseed

My beloved son (RIP) was involved in a terrible car accident with drinking and driving involved. He was the driver. Others' were hurt, but thank God, no one died. He would have gone to prison actually for some kind of assault charges from it, but when he got finally into a wheelchair, (paralyzed from the chest down) after battling to come back to life; it turned out he was full of Cancer. He avoided prison but let's just say; he did his time.

I, too, am against drinking and driving. It shows how screwed up our society is when a drug like alcohol is legal.

Sorry to hear about your friend and the others that were hurt. My heart especially goes out to the innocent victims of this crime. One girl in my son's car broke her back and will never probably be the same again.
