I have an appointment w/a new pain Doc next month.I havent ditched the old one, yet.I got the paperwork in the mail and I think they are asking too many personal questions about illicit drug use.My current Doc knows about my use and doesnt even bring it up.Im not sure now that I even want to keep this 2nd appointment.Im now on 340mg of Oxycontins daily and have no relief other than some strong indica.Decisions,decisions.Peace BigD in agony this very second

is oxycoden the only thing that works for you pharmacutically bigd? Have you tried tramadol/norco for pain and soma and zanax for night time cruizin and anxiety? Im no doc---but OXYS are soooo bad IMHO (doctors know this too) and tolerance builds greatly with any dose for a diration of time.
As far as the docs asking what other drugs u take(ur treating yourself-keep it that way).

I'm not sure how it works in your neck of the woods but I got to see the trials and tribulations of a few friejnds in chronic pain management. Most chronic pain management docs do urin tests to ensure they don't have a junkie. The last think you want it to be labled a junkie or to be found in violaion of your pain management contract because that means they either cut you off or send you to rehab. Be honest and hope for the best. You are on such a high dose that you realy don't want to be cutting safety corners.
Good luck and hang tough BigDaddy!

don't admit squat to a pain doc. it will lead to trouble eventually, like getting cut off cold turkey and I'm sure you can figure out what that would do to your pain control. I cut my morphine from 900mg/day down to 150mg/day over a period of about 6 months. I slowly cut it by 10% per week but I would stall the decline if I experienced too much pain. thanks to a cookie per night, which re-established my sleep pattern, gave me an appetite, and did a better job of pain management than the morphine was doing. I had to see a replacement doc while my gp went on a drug conference and he looked at my dosage, at that time it was 250 mg, and said to me " I have a mind to cut you off cold turkey" and when I said to him that it appeared to be malpractice since he didn't even read my file and I was sure my family gp would have his nuts for bookends for such an irresponsible statement. I was right and my doc admitted this idiot had insulted several of his patients and wouldn't be asked to come back. my question was what would happen if my doc didn't return? would have left me looking for a doc trained in chronic pain management and in a hurry at that.

Pain managment Doctors can be a hassle. My mother and i were going to the same one. Phuck head cuts her off her Kadian(morphine) over a personal disagreement. Caused her too look like a junkie sending her to a dryout joint. I questioned it's legality, and the bastige sends me for a drug test. I passed, but he cut me off the next week. Told me i was no longer welcome there.
Now my mother and i are both suing said Doctor. BTW the reason they cut off my Mother was because her friend had a suit on him for shady dealings. So he illegally refused treatment based on a personal issue. I questioned it, and i get the same treatment. My mother on the other hand never said a thing. They just told her they would not see her anymore.
We both went to another. This place is much better. Just much farther away.
According to my lawyer he's toast. Dummy i guess was trying to protect himself from a lawsuit, but garnered 2 more
Oh and for the person who recommended Tramadol, or Norco. Tramadol is a joke that might get rid of a headache. Also what little effectivenss it does have disipates rapidly, and it's still highly addictive. Norco is still a opiate based medication, just a different brand than Vicodin.
They made us junkies, then forced us into special centers for our med's. Then they treat us like dogs. All this so the holier than thou crowd can feel good about themselves.
