Hi all,

Hoping someone can help out my friend with a name of a doctor in the Windsor area who is signing exemption forms. He needs to renew in October, and his doctor just retired.

Thanks in advance :D ,

d

Hi all,

If you don't know of a doctor in the Windsor area, maybe you could tell me what step I should take next? I'd like to help my friend get his papers signed so he can keep his license to grow and treat himself. He's pretty worried about it right now, and I told him I'd try to help. Is there a referral service or something that he or I can call to find out who the doctors are in this area that will help him?

'Randall' here is a local Marijuana Party member, so I already emailed him to see if he has any leads. Waiting.

Thanks for any help,

d

Thanks Funk. Too bad the Windsor compassion club is gone... they would have probably known some local docs.

Well, my friend still can not find a doctor in the Windsor area willing to sign his renewal. Could someone please pass along the contact info for a Toronto doctor, or anyone in between Toronto and Windsor? I guess he'll need to take a trip north once a year to get his license renewed. He's going to have one hell of a trip, trying to sit in a car for that long.

Oh yeah! This system works GREAT!

Twist I wish it was easier to help out your friend...I know here in NS the doctors that are signing are not signing for anymore patients right now, nor do they want their names passed around as signers.

I hope he can find a doctor close by...Good Luck Hugs Uni ;)

I'm not sure if the dr in Scarborough is taking on any new patients but there is no harm in asking. Do you still have the dr name & number in Scarborough if not it's posted on a thread here at TY

Wow.. what a great system we have. My friend is even willing to drive for 4 hours, and still can't get a name. It's not like this is a new application either.. he's has his license for 2 years now. His doctor retired, and now he's screwed. Most doctors won't even take new patients, and those that do aren't interested in patients taking meds that they don't get a kickback for perscribing. Fucking wonderful!

Thats it.. I'mm calling Hell(th) Canada tomorrow and giving them a piece of my mind. If this guy can't get a renewal, the local cops will pick him off in a heartbeat. This is bullshit

At least they are signing in Ontario....
We can't seem to find doctors here in Alberta.
Good luck to your friend.
My doctor told me to go to another province.

Now this is what I am talking about. What can we do about this? There are 1700+ license holders in all of Canada, but there are 350,000 in California, and they only have 9% more population than Canada. We must be able to leverage the internet, and coordinate some protests or something. There are 1 million + addmitted medical users in this country... how can get these numbers to work for us?

i think the problem is largely the fact that ontario's gp's think cannabis is a gateway drug that is addictive, makes their kids unmotivated etc etc..there is nothing in the science journals written about cannabis except when its used in cancer and HIV...the fact that cannabis helps with depression, migraines...is bs to most doctors and they think we are just "self-medicating" and by doing so inducing whatever is ailing us and if we just quit cannabis it would all go away.

I like to be honest to my doctors; but as soon as i tell them i'm a regular cannabis user.. i can just see it strips me of my credibility right there and then and i become a drug abuser and become treated entirely differently.

Simply amazes me that there you were able to hook up a cannabis friendly doctor marco.. i surely thought the ones that are out there were inaccessible due to sheer demand of patients; cannabis using or not.

The dr that I posted isn't my doctor at all. This is a dr to alot of TY members who are now exemptees. I have a new dr now that I moved to Toronto. My mother has been seeing this dr for over 20 years so he was well aware of my drug addiction. Once he got to know me and saw that I am a productive member of society and NOT some DRUG ADDICT looking for a fix ne agreed to sign my Health Canada forms. Now not only did he sign my forms but agreed to bump up my exemption from 16 grams per day to 26 grams per day. Most dr don't understand marijuana use and all it takes is PROOF! Well my proof for the increased use was my blood test results, when I was taking perks for my pains in my knees my blood test showed that my liver was getting worse. When I redid my blood test after stopping my perk use and increased my mmj use my blood test showed that my liver was pretty much back to normal. A quote from my liver specialist "The Proof is in the pudding" Then he went on to say keep doing what you are doing. So I relayed this info to my new dr and he agreed. My liver specialist has known since day 1 that I use marijuana to help me cope with my ailments yet he still refuses to sign my forms due to issues that he would have to deal with from his peers at the Hospital.
