Its possible to live a LONG TIME WITH HIV.
Ive been doing it for 16 years. Im 30
I credit this somewhat to mari jane,
With out her I would be,....strung out,
not feeling myself.....loaded and broken.
trapped on the edge.. All these Ive felt.
is this Pain in my Head?
I risk The Pen... to do what I do.....
but I survived this long, what else can I do.
Chemotherapy, every day for the rest of my life
Do they even know why?...I sweat at night.
These are just thoughts, mine to be sure
which flowed from the tips of my digits this morn.
Knowing the loss which transforms into hope.
As the drug of my youth, illegal as hell...turns
....into the only substance i feel comfortable taking
sorry for the bad poem.

i believe that medicating with cannabis is a contributing factor as well with my hiv and hep c status. i am going on five years and my viruses are undectable. my numbers actually have gotten better sinse i been able to gain access to cannabis. no big pharm drugs here :D

It's good to see an active HIV/AIDS forum. I want to understand more about the plight of people suffering from these diseases. Part of having true compassion is trying to put yourself in another's shoes. Without knowledge it can't really be done.
It's good to hear that so many HIV patients are living long, productive lives with the help of MMJ.
Keep it up!! :)

I was diagnosed as H.I.V. positive on August 1st, 2002. I also had full blown AIDS with a CD4 cellcount of 20(approximately 4% of my immune system left). My viral load was a whopping 158,000. Because of me being able to tolerate my meds and take them with food, well I am happy to say that today I am undetectable and my CD4 cellcount is over 500!!!! I owe a lot of the success of my treatment to the effects of MEDICINAL MARIJUANA!!! I also noticed a marked improvement in my health when I purchased a Volcano vaporizer....it has been a godsend. I feel Health Canada is totally in the wrong when they are trying to sell marijuana to the sick and dying. I do NOT pay for any of my other meds....and there are lots of them.....so why do I have to take money out of my pocket to pay for something that should be provided to me FREE of charge by our government. I have a licence to both grow and possess my own marijuana as stated on the marijuana access regulations. Most of us in the H.I.V./AIDS forum should have our exemptions....that is us Canadians. A lot of members in the United States also have there exemptions through the state level. We are the lucky ones.....we could be in Africa with no chance at getting H.I.V meds. As a mod here I will do my utmost to provide people in need with the necessary info on how to get your own exemptions and the steps you can follow in order to achieve that goal. So take my advice,,,,,whether you are exempt or not.....grow your own meds and keep a low profile. Some people think it is a joke that we grow our own for medicinal purposes.....these are the people that have their heads up their butts. P.S. for those of you that have access to the last issue of Skunk Magazine check out my pic on page 25(Pete's exemption cards). I am the real deal.
Good to hear that you're doing good Pete.My counts are not so good but i can't change my meds 'cause i can't cope with protease inhibitor stuff cause of the side fx so my doctor put me on hold and wait for some new stuff that will be released next year.Let's keep the faith positive thinking is a crucial element in fighting the "bug" lol.
Peace.

we are all in the same boat here. You are not alone.....I don't tell everyone I know I have H.I.V. and I think that would be a mistake. Just try and keep a low profile and keep medicating. Have you vaporized yet? I know that once I started to vape that I would eat non stop. It may really help you in your quest for a hunger. God Bless!!! :) :)
I thought it was a good poem. The tips of your digits still work well!

I was diagnosed with A.I.D.S. in the new year of 95. Damn near died twice that year, but faught my way back to the living. I have a tough time with themeds but just keep taking them. It would be difficult without MJ, it really helps. Glad to hear the other positive stories on hear also. Peace

I only have chronic Hep C and have tried two different forms of treatment, but was given less than 90 daze to live and that was almost 13 years ago! I honestly believe that the power of prayer is truly amazing and I had a bunch of loved ones praying hard for me at the time. I also think that developing a positive mental attitude, PMA, is most helpful. Sounds like you have got one, even when you are down! I am clinically depressed, but still attempt to maintain a PMA as often as possible. Best of luck! Please, take care, be well and smoke on....

Was diagnosed in 86 or 87 -- however many years that is. And still going strong.
Smoked MJ the whole time

those Marijuan capsules are great. They are helping me not to take painkillers in a major way.
Is the volcano complicated? How in heck do people afford those?
I know what I will buy when my bankruptcy is discharged (the courts are bogged down right now I was told) and sell my cottage :D

is a little bit cost prohibitive. I remember when I first saw one and thought how in the hell am I going to be able to afford one of those. Well I got one after two years of saving. I am on a disability income with no other source of incoming cash. So if I can do it so can you. And the Volcano is very easy to use.....about as easy as making toast in your toaster.God Bless. :D :D

Hello I could not agree more. Even my doctor has told me to use MJ. He told me not to use marinol and us mj.
I have had HIV for over 10 years but did not find out until two years ago when I almost died.
The MJ helps with Neuropathy, Stomach Issues and Pain.
I wish I had the money to get a volcano but like you Pete on am on disability.
Wish I could find a place to get clones like they do in California.
