I use a smoke stone for every joint, it's a habit I got into back in the 70s and I recently had a friend ask me about aquiring one. I know that someplace somebody still knows what they are and where one might be found. Any chance that "somebody" recalls seeing them for sale??? Thanks

Go and buy a Grolsch beer and take off the ceramic top, it makes a great smoking stone.

I haven't seen one of those in ages. I found a pic online of a popular (back in the '70's) glazed ceramic smoking stone.

I thought I posted an hour or so ago that I found soapstone smoking stones at everyonedoesit. Oh well A forumite at another site linked me to eodi. I have some soapstone hash pipes so as a smoking stone they should work. I actually think I have one of the glazed ceramic stones deep in my smoking collection.. thanks all.

I was wondering what a smoke stone was.... basically a bitch stick for joints it seems? probably work better than ones I make out of hemp stalk. hehehe I don't tend to make the whole whide enough for it not to get cloged after a several joints. I've seen saopstone smoke stones before. did not know that is what they were called tho. thanx for the info. :)

BITCH STICK?
Back in the good ol' days, we use to call them a jefferson airplane and we'd use a burnt cardboard match that we'd carefully, pull apart length-wise, almost to the top, put the j-bone in-between and how the bottom together. The poor man's roach clip.

BTW, did you know that the New York City Conucil is currently trying to pass a resolution to ban the use of the Word BITCH, as well as the word Ho.

WHat are people going to say at Christmas time?

:)

I just knew if we both stuck around we'd find something in common!

Ever make a coconut?
When you take all of your roaches, wrap them in a couples of sheets of rolling paper in the shape of a ball, dampen it, wrap it in tin foil, gently heat it, remove the foil, stick it on a pin or paper clip and then light it, stick yor head over it and inhale, and pass it on before you coughed your brains out! Man they were on the verge of nasty, but they sure did the trick when all everyone had in their stash was some roaches. We'd do anything back in the day!

i havnt looked at your site, but what would the cost of a glass smoke stone be? i had one in HS in the late 80's but the police chucked it out into a field one night. marble i think, i havnt heard of one or seen one since then. anyways them throwing it was alot nicer than going to jail.

Hi there!
I'm new to this here comunity and this is my first visit. Got connected thru Yahoo search because I wanted to check on the results for my new website planetsmokestones. Found out you guys are acutally looking for the old smokestone, funny. The site is in german but I tried to translate the important stuff. Anyway, feel free to vistit the shop and drop me a line if you wish. You'd make my day, friends.
Take care, John

I contacted them to see how much their smoke stones would cost delivered to me. With no malice meant, they must think we are all wealthy beyond belief! With all the pride they could muster, they advised me A(singular) smokestone delivered to me would be just above $100.00 dollars. I forgot to ask of the stone was made of platinum or was diamond crusted or had vermiel inlay. If the price were 15 bucks to the states maybe but evidently labour costs and raw material prices are through the roof over there. Am I being naive or their prices out of line but inline with roor bongs also overpriced from germany. I know I am on a fixed income but a c note for basically a stone with a tapered hole seems a bit pricy to me

Yeah, right. Lot's of dough. But, the thing is, the "making of" requires a lot of handywork and there is a lot of waste in the progress. They cost € 35 ea out of the cutting shop, which is about 45 bucks, with the exchange rate at 1.3. I don't live on the revenues of the little shop, its more like a hobby. Shipping does cost about $ 10. So, if a guy doesn't make a single penny, he'll still have to charge you $ 45, just to cover his expenses. Maybe if somebody makes thousands of them in taiwan they'll be a lot cheaper. But that is not the case, the stones are made in a little german manufactory and in very small numbers.
Figures, you might say....:)
Smokinbasser, go back to the man and make him an honest offer, he might let you slide and cut you some slack.

they sell them in online head shops for 10$ or so, 100$??? thats like the hash presses they sell for 260$ that are nothing but 3$ in brass hardware store parts.
unless maybe i am not understanding, you do mean just a regular old j- stone right ?

It is a disc shaped stone with what might be convex or concave "sides" they do appear to be well polished but still. I have a white onyx smokestone carved in the shape of a sunfish( all bass are sunfish) and it was 4 or 5 bucks, but it was a few decades ago but I could see even a 100% bump but whooee. I wish I made the bucks to buy one just to brag about having a 100 dollar smokestone. I just feel that is out of the price range of most MMJ people. It is for me on SSDI. Sorry guys
