ok I HAve been doing some reading and it said that ocd could be treated with mushrooms....... has anyone heard of this ??
I read an article in ty about this but I cant remember who was doing the treatments..
As one who used quite a few hallucinogens in my youth, I have to say that I have questions about using hallucinogens for treatment of any particular condition. These are very powerful consciousness-changing drugs. I believe that Timothy Leary and others have recommended hallucinogens for treatment, but not for physiologic effect, as far as I know. No question that a person who takes hallucinogens is temporarily potentiating great change in their attitude, but rather than affecting particular symptoms such as OCD or chronic depression, I strongly believe that the desired effect is the changing of one's consciousness to allow an attitudinal change or to facilitate insight, both of which are normal but can be quite protracted in their time frame.
In other words, I'm not saying it won't work, because something that either changes your mind or allows you to change your own mind can create very, very powerful change in your life. However, these drugs are so powerful that I feel it important to recommend that you do some more research, to see if others have experienced what you hope to experience, and that if you do decide to do hallucinogens that you do not do it lightly. It's very important to be in the right environment for hallucinogens to create a positive experience. Be sure to enlist a guide, someone with much experience in this area, if you choose to go forward.
Best of luck to you. I know that OCD can be a very debilitating condition, and I hope you find some relief.

I have used nearly every form of psychedelic out there (though not in many years).....I would say that a mild, friendly mushroom trip might help, but overdoing it with a harsh psychedelic such as a strong dose of LSD or another tryptamine (DMT, etc) could easily make things worse. I know that at least some of my present day anxiety comes from overly intense psychedelic experiences in my past.
However, it has also opened my mind to things I could never have conceived or imagined, certainly not in anything but the most academic abstract way......thanks to phenethylamines (2-c-x class, mescaline, etc), I have a perspective on many things, including the universe and transcendent spiritual matters, that I could never have gained otherwise.
