Lowlife,or anyone else,
My auto flowering AK-47's are 65 days old but I'm not sure if thet're ready for harvesting and curing. I inspect the Trichomes each day and they're cloudy but none are Amber in color. I know the rule of thumb is Cloudy to Amber for optimum potency as far as Trichomes are comcerned and am wondering if I should harvest them because they are reaching the 70 day time period or wait until some of the trichomes begin to turn amber color. Any input would be appreciated.

Trichome development is key to your harvest, however, pistil color has also been a helpful indicator for me. At least 80% of your pistils should have turned red. I would wait until you have no more than 6% white pistils and about 10% of trichomes are amber and almost none are clear. Make sure you flush your growing media properly before harvest. 7-14 days no fertilizer, this can also be done faster with some flush products that can be purchased at your grow store.

is that 65 days from seed? most AFers are best closer to the 80 day range.

The plants are 65 days from when they popped out of the dirt so maybe I have to wait another 10-15 days because the trichomes are still not amber, only cloudy. Thanks for the input.

from what i have experienced and read most people looking for a med effect from their AF plants definitely prefer them to go a bit long. Good luck.
