TY does not have SSL encryption i believe marco...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Sockets_Layer
Its a some sort of secure connection stuff that you need to buy a seperate certificate for... Could be wrong.. but i dont think its SSL encrypted around these parts....

i believe that where the http: is if there was ssl here that all you would need to do is add an s after the p...https:....from what i have read anyways that would direct you to the secure site if it was aviable....im not 100% though...ask a techy fer sure

SSL encryption (HTTPS) requires some settings on the server side to be configured, and you have to acquire an authentication "Certificate" that confirms the identity of the server & provides a "key" to base the encryption around.
You can get free Certificates nowadays.....or you can generate your own, but doing the latter will cause every user who connects via HTTPS to see a warning dialog "The Identity of this Certificate cannot be confirmed; accept anyway? YES/NO"....which obviously will spook some people. But it will work nonetheless.
I have always been rather mystified that TY didn't support SSL; that is generally a bare basic security measure for sites of this type.....

I will ask my Tech team to look into this once we have our own server up and running

Especially with the class of new hardware you're going to be using; especially if you have something standard, based around Apache, you should be golden for setting up a very solid SSL configuration.
With Microsoft's "IIS" web server software, I don't know how to achieve that; but it *should* be relatively easy as well.
Once it's set up, this is not something that should really require any time, effort, thought or significant resources/cost on your part.

I will be seeing the head of the tech team on Friday so I will be discussing this plus other issues with him
I know it's been a long time coming but these improvements to the site took more time than I anticipated.

The TY NEW SERVER will be extremely TIGHT there is no way that with what is being implemented that we can get hacked into. All data will be ENCRYPTED not sure what that means but that is what I was told by my tech guy.
I understand folks living in the USA can get extremely paranoid due to their current Government

NO as long as all the data is transfered over to the TY server then nobody will need to reregister. We are going to keep the LOOK server running just to make sure that we have everything. The complete transfer should be completed by the end of the month as there has been some delays on my tech side.
