So as many of you know Hydrohut was/is having a problem with their tents made in CHINA were/are off gassing chlorine gas... And its causes plants to bleach and turn yellow from the veins... Nasty shit... Plus if its doing that to the plants I don't want to know whats its doing to me...... Well I went down to Bustan.ca and I saw they had Hyrdofarm Habitats....So I asked them if they were having the same problems as the HydroHuts.... They assured me that they had sold plenty and no complaints..... So I bought 2..(4x8x7).... Now 1 month later (plants in the tents for just under a week)... I start seeing this yellowing starting on my BlackIndica E...
Which really sucks because she is one of the best in the garden....But I can see it starting on few others... The dark green Indicas are looking ok for now......But the lighter Sativas are definitely showing signs as well..... Anyways... I call Bustan to see if I can return my tents..... Not to my surprise they say NO.... They can't return it because Hydrofarm wont admit that there is a problem with THEIR tents too..... They say that it is an environmental issue and its my fault not theirs(hydrofarm).... I dont even have the tent closed and it stinks like plastic..... temps 80/75o day/night.... RH 30/50%.... The RH would be higher if I closed the tent... Haha yeah right... I wouldn't close this death trap...... The only thing in the room that has changed in my environment is the Hydrofarm Death trap I mean Habitat....... Stay away from these tents.... There are a few out there that are good... Like the Secret Jardin or the HomeBox...So stick to these Brand names..... I am afraid to put any more money into venting... But thats basically what Bustan said to do... I am stuck I don't know what to do..... I think I just wasted $1300+ ... I just hope I can save my plants....

Sorry to hear of your problem, but glad Bustan is taking care of you.
Bustan is a nice shop with nice people, but I find their prices are a bit higher than most.

Can't say I've ever seen anything like this yellowing. It sure looks to be systemic which means it's getting in thru the medium. Air born would attack the edges, would it not? Glad to hear they treated you so right, it's rare. You think they would have tested the thing before ripping people off with that price tag.

All Growtents Are Constructed In China, Even The Homebox ( Only One Panel Is Yellow ?)
However At At No Time Have I Experienced Any Toxins From Both Homeboxes I Have Owned
Despite The odd Niggle here And there , You Do Get What You Pay For At The End Of The Day
Remember All The Tents That Have been Mentioned Were/Are Blatant Rip Off's of Denises Homebox Design.
That Much I Do Know

I have two no name tents made in China & would not buy the cheap ones again. Poles are weaker & I have had the symptoms hygrohut describes just not a known manufacturer to complain to about it. Seems ok for now but it does get the plants in they're early stages.

Has Anyone Had A Growtent Where Just One Panel Inside Turned Grey ??
I Have Cut Out The Offending Piece Which Shows The Entire Wall Section A Dark Grey
The ventilation Flaps Attached To It Are Still A Snow White , As Is The Bottom Flap Which Covers The Zipper
I Also Found Out ( Yesterday ) That My Tent Is Extremely Inflammable !!!!
Whatever Your Growtent , Don't Be Tempted To Use Any Naked Flames ( I Know People Who
Use A Propane Torch To Help Boost C02 Levels  )
I Would Not Reccomend Anyone To Do This

I just read an article/ad in the new treating yourself issue(by the way huge thanks MARCO for the mag and subscription is in the mail) about PVC,PE,PU and the problems with knock off copies of the original and I was very surprise with all the research and technologies that can effect plants and safety when using an indoor grow set up like these ones..so check out the paper issue of treating yourself for more info if ya have not already. By the way if anyone hasnt gotten the paper copy of treating your self your missing out on an incredible resource for med mj. I love it and I am sure you will too. I am talking to YOU... thats right you reading this message, go get the new issue of treating your self at your local book store......ok know you have been hypnotized and will have an uncontrollable compulsion to buy treatingyourself so now you have no excuse to not support the hardcoppy of t.y. and make MARCOS efforts recognized... oh yeah by the way sorry about the diversion from the posted thread here... but I cant help my self..

I own a Original Hydro Hut. Everyone keeps telling me about this issue.

When I was growing in it, my plants yellowed regularly. I am not sure what to blame it on....

in·flam·ma·ble Audio Help /ɪnˈflæməbəl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[in-flam-uh-buhl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective
1. capable of being set on fire; combustible; flammable.
2. easily aroused or excited, as to passion or anger; irascible: an inflammable disposition.
—Usage note Inflammable and flammable both mean “combustible.” Inflammable is the older by about 200 years. Flammable now has certain technical uses, particularly as a warning on vehicles carrying combustible materials, because of a belief that some might interpret the intensive prefix in- of inflammable as a negative prefix and thus think the word means “noncombustible.” Inflammable is the word more usually used in nontechnical and figurative contexts: The speaker ignited the inflammable emotions of the crowd.

Sorry bro just thought I would point that out.....

I Mean Flammable ( Thanks )
In 1986 ( Expo Year ) I Had A Large Grow Op In Victoria ( Esquimalt )
From My Previous Images You May See I Used To Hang My Ballasts From The Cieling In Canada
Anyways A Plug Shorted And A Fire Began
I Was Alerted By A Large bang And Thought Someone Had Kicked In The Basement Door
I Went Down With " Louie" ( Baseball bat ) And Noticed Everything Was Locked Up
I Went In And Slid Door #1 Open And Proceeded To The Bud Room
I Slid That Door Open And Noticed The Whole Cieling Was On Fire:eek:
I Had Used Survival Blankets Glued To A Styrofoam Backing, And Now All Of This Noxious Plastic Was Dripping Over The Buds On The Almost Ready A1 Bud We Were Growing
Without Thinking , I Picked Up The Large Feed Buckets And Just Threw Them Over The Electrical Panels And Flames
Most Of The Crop Was Ruined , As Were The Floor Joists
I Ran Up The Road To The Esquimalt Inn And Phoned My Two Other Partners, Who Immediatley Came Over
It Was Their Fault , And It Was Lucky My Cab Had Broken Down That Night
Still Totally Pumped On Adrenaline , I Was Made To Sit Down And It Was At That Point I Was Told The Melted Plastic Had Rained Down On My Head , Kneck , And Shoulders, And I Was Taken To Hospital For Treatment
IMHO; There Is No Need For Reflective Coverings Above Your Lamps, And Please Use Non Flammable Products

Wait what??? Inflammable=Flammable...... Its right there out of the dictionary.....

who knew? I sure thought "inflammable" meant that it could not burn . I am wrong. here is a little in for to correct mine and maybe others point of view ..

by the way pistal pete, you sure have had your sting of bad luck. I am glad you can tell us all about the issues surrounding deadly option with growing. boy I feel so much better knowing that things can just catch on fire so fast.. should be able to sleep with one eye open for the rest of my life now you have given us all that piece of mind... fire fire fire, save the plants... maybe there should be a sticker put in every growers window with a little pot plant in a crib to show the rescue workers there is live plants on board and that they need to save them before the people kids or pets... priorities priorities priorities ... I guess a fire extinguisher is a really great idea for any grow room and maybe the first thing to have on hand before the lights get plugged in. I know I am putting on extremely handy right away...

Good Morning Grinkeeper:)
In Regards To The Initial Cause ( Plug Fried Ballast hanging By Rope from The Cieling In Milk Crate)
The Fire Spread Up The Rope And The Ballst And Crate Hit The Deck ( The Sound I Thought Was The Door Getting Kicked In )
Now ; Bad Luck; My Caddilac Sedan de Ville I Drove For Empress taxi Broke Down And They Had No Spare
So I Went Home , And The Bang Happened Some Fifteen Minutes Later
Had My Taxi Not Broken Down , I Would Have been Out Til 4 Am The Next Day
And I Would be Facing A Long Prison Sentence For Growing And Stealing Electricity ( Pirate Power )
It Was Shortly After This Incident I Moved Up To http://www.hornbyisland.com And I Must Say The Growing Was Good
During The Summer I Operated A water Taxi ( And Glass Bottom Boat ) And In Winter I Gathered Seaweed In My 79 Chevy 1 Ton 4x4 From Whaling Station Beach And Sold On Average Four Loads Daily @ $50.00 A Load To Organic Growers ( Like Des kennedy )
My Old Handle " Joe King Park " Was Named After The Softball Park On Hornby , And Remained Until I Was Renamed Pistol Pete By Lonestar Of TRC Fame ( He Likes Pistol Pete marovitch, A Baseball Player )
Heres My Old House , And Adjoining Studio On Hornby Island ( Rent Goes Down To$600 PCM From October Thru Mayhttp://www.relaxonhornby.com/house.htm
But Yes; I Do Take A Lickin
But I Keep On Tickin

I Am A Firm Believer In Karma; The Last Guy To Mess With Me Went On Holiday And His Entire Crop Died Less Than A Week After he Had Me Kicked Out Of HG420 ( His Member Name Here Is "Too Kind" ) But In Reality he Is A Scumball Dealer , With No Morals

Instead Of A Fire Extinguisher , Get A C02 Bottle , As Other Systems Contain Powder And Other nasties

Safety First, ALWAYS
Good day , Eh !

I Would Like To Think That We All Live According To The Laws Of Fate, And What You Do ( Or Do Not Chose To Do ) Affects Your Destiny
For Instance In 1997 , My Worst Year Ever , I Suffered A Much Worse " Accident " Which Saw Me Being Medivacced To Comox Hospital, And Then On To Nanaimo General With Third Degree Burns, Finally Ending Up At The GR Strong Burns Unit In Vancouver ( Where I Removed Asbestos A Decade Earlier )
During The Winter of 95 I Succumbed To A Local Fellow Who Had Aquired two Large Brown glass Bottles Of Morphine ( The Type That Has A Rubber Top In Which To Stick Your Syrynge In And Suck Up:eek:
Throughout The Winter I Jabbed Up Morning , Noon And Night, And Came Very Close On Numourous occasions To Overdosing
In February Of 96, I Was Driven By My Mother To Victoria , And Was Admitted To Pemberton House Recovery Centre To Detox ( Which Was Hell ) For Two Weeks
Even The Coffee @ Pemberton House Is decaffeinated !!
After Two Weeks I Felt Like A Whole new Person , And Was very Happy And Positive I Had beaten The Initial Physical Addiction
I Remember Walking Down Fort Street To The Yates Street Intersection And Was Crossing A Black/White Crosswalk When I Was Broadsided And Run Over By A Man Who Was Attempting To Evade A Hit And Run
What Stopped Me From Flying Across The Car Was The Corner Of My Eye Socket Which Made Contact With One Of The Windscreen Wipers
I Rolled Off The Hood Of The Car And The Guy Sped Off With A Lady Running After Him ( The Lady Whose Original car Was Hit Before me ) And She Assured me She Had His Number And car Make
The Guy Only Made It Another 500 Metres Or So before Smashing Into Two More Stationary cars
I Had Roughly 30 Witnesses Who Saw This , And After Visiting My Dentist Friend Who Immediatley Gave Me Some Xanax, And took Me To The Police Station
( Because Of Past Addictions In Victoria I Was Scared To Go To Hospital There ) So I Went Back To Hornby And Made Sure That There Was Morphine Waiting For My Arrival
The Following Day I Was Driven To Comox General Hospital And Admitted For Observation
I.C.B.C , The Insurance Company came And Visited , And From That Point I Was Given Over $100.00 A Day Expenses , As Well As Arrangements To Have My Dentist Friend In Victoria Fix All My Teeth With Pins
After I Got Out Of Hospital I Turned Down The $4000.00 Settlement , And Also Turned Down The $10,000 And $20,000 Offers That Were Coming Thick And Fast
( I Finally Settled For $78,000 Plus The Monies They Had Given Me daily )
I Bought A Mini Cooper S ( 1340 cc Arden 8 Port ) And Used To Drive Up To Campbell River Almost Every day To Buy An Eightball of Coke And Four Flaps Of heroin
Campbell River Is Just About Two Hours from Hornby, And My Addiction Was So Intense I
Never Managed To Get back To Hornby With The Coke , I Just Kept Pulling Over @ Every Opportnity
Anyway ; One Day My Mini Would Not Start , And I Attempted To Change The SU Feul Pump ( Electric )
Being High As A Kite, I Drained The Tank Onto The Floor And Removed The Pump Without Disconnecting The battery
I Hooked Everything Up And Turned On The Ignition , And Waited To Hear The Feul Pump Start Ticking, Which It Was'nt
So I Picked Up A Wrench And Tapped The Pump , And Must Have Arced It , And ; Kaboom
The Whole Underneath Of The Mini Was On Fire , As Was My Hands , Goretex Jacket, And Beard
I Remember Panicking Before Dropping To My Knees And Slow Motion Seemed To Take Over And I Was Calm:confused:
Next Thing I Knew Was My Elderly Mother With A Fire Extinguisher And The Hornby Island First Responders ( Thanks Brian ) Getting Me To The Bathtub In The Studio Where I Was Made To Immerse My Hands And Face Into The Cold Water
Doc Arrived Shortly Thereafter And Jabbed Me With 20 MG's of Morphine, And I was Rushed Down To The ferry Which was Made To Stay
But Unfortuneatley I Went Into Shock , And I Was E Vacced Via Chinook To St Pauls
I Was Screaming Like crazy And Was In So Much Pain And Was being Totally Freaked Out By The Doctors And Nurses In Fancy Dress ( Yes , This happened On Halloween  )
I Was Heavily Sedated, And Woke Up In Vancouver , Not Remembering My Stay @ Nanaimo At All

So , That Was My Wake Up Call
