I have had a spider mite attach that has destroyed most of my indoor garden. I was gone on holidays for 10 days and it seem to happen during this time and the damagae is not reversable. Now I am over the shock and learned something from this for sure but now I have to do as many precautions to make sure I dont have the same problem again.

I want to do a really good room clean . I have foiled insulation on the walls right now but I will be tearing this out and going with panda poly all over now. but I will still be doing a hasmat scrub down of the walls floor & ceiling with scrub brush . then I will be spraying like I did at the begining of the last grow. I used a industrial fungicide and then a 5% bleack solution and even did advanced nutrients product called WIPE OUT...

QUESTIONS
IS 5% BLEACH SOLUTION STRONG ENOUGH?
SHOULD i buy fungicide paint and do the whole area?
is there anything else I should be doing to the room?

p.s.
I will be dunking all the plants going in the room 3 times over a period of a week to make sure they have been inoculated to try and eliminate the issues...but for some erie feeling I think that this will never go away but still I must try and hope for the best......

I'm going to use a product called "Ortho Home Defense" to kill anything that might be in my bloomroom. I'll soon be done blooming and will spray this when the room is empty. It's designed to spray indoors/outdoors, especially points of entry.
You should get some AVID from Brite Lites , I used to buy supplies from them till they moved from Mississauga to there. The Vapona No-Pest strips work well also, I use them in conjunction with fumigators and AVID if needed.

HEY I know where they are now. they are very knowledgable people. I like shopping there. I didnt know they have AVID. I thought it was totally banned. Its apperently very dangerous. I will be wearing my charcoal breather face mask if I get this stuff..
Can you use AVID on plants??? DOES IT WORK GOOD OR NOT...WILL IT BURN OR KILL MY PLANTS

AVID doesn't harm the plants at all. They sell small bottles for 25 bux, you mix 15 drops per liter, spray 3 times, 3 days apart, but only spray in veg or early bloom, leaving at least 6 weeks before you harvest. You should wear protective gear like a mask. I also add Dutch Master's Penetrator to penetrate the miticide deeper into the leaves, also works as a surfactant.
I dip small plants into an AVID mix as a preventative, and use a fogger to apply to larger plants, leaving the fogger on a timer in the room while I'm not in there.

I was infested with these NASTY BUGS just a year ago...I did a complete cleanup of my flower space, using a strong bleach wash, I also ran a bug bomb and so far it has kept the buggers out of my grow space...now I use the pyrithium strips and change them every couple of months...keep your space ultra-clean once you get rid of them, they love rooms with dead leaves and detritus...good luck...you shall overcome!

Peace...j.b.

I think "Safer Soaps" are the best organic pest killers.

Home hardware use to carry a item called a " Mister "

A hand held tool that emites a very fine mist of water...soap.

Spry/mist what ever product you want.( made for insectecide ).

There a selector switch so you can decide on how much mist you desire.

I own one and its the best.

This tool is electric, fill the bottom res and bebye buggs.

Its trully amazing machine does all over, under, over branches and flip leaf by it self as it has a built in blower with a very fine MIST .

I'm not too shure if they still carry this item. but i'm shure some where in flea markets and garage sale you can get one.

Grey top and white res at botom its a litle on the square shape. Has a 1 foot power cord ' A Mister "

Make the job of scrubbing very easy , Mist it instead.

Erm ; Avid Is One Harsh And Toxic Product!! Use With Care
And Dutchmaster Have On Numerous Occasions had carcinogenic ( Bud Fuel) Made Up Of Coal Tar derivitives Products pulled from The Shelves:eek:
Use A Fogger or Nebulisor ( Steam Wallpaper Remover Machine From Rental Store)
1% Bleach And Pressurised Sprayer
Investing In A Sulphume Vapouriser Seems To Be The best Long Term Defense
It's A Product Borrowed from The Strawberry Growing Industry, BTW

by the way I have been using a garden based sulpfur product in powder from that dilutes 15mls of powder to one liter of water and then can be sprayed on the plants for rust on some of my leafs... is this a good idea to do the spray with diluted sulfur and what other issues is this good for or bad for....any thing come to mind pistol pete, do you use sulfur spray or have you. Thought I read its good for controlling powder mildew is this true...not that I have it... and isnt sulfur one of the micro nutrients plants use and can it be foiliar absorbed,,
