.. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out a thermasts+hydrostat setup.. I have 2 units I got from a friend there nice Johnston controls units that are not cheap and apparently very accurate. I want to have a system to turn on my exhaust fan/filter when temps go up and to turn off the fan once the temps go down.I am pretty sure this is the way they are currently wired up now. But I want to be able to have the co2 solenoid to come on when the fan is off. I am sure you under stand what I am talking about.

will I need a relay or something to make this work?

the two units are already wired together but I think its just to turn the fan off if either the humidity or temp gets to high, I dont think the current wiring will allow me to ad a co2 solenoid to come on when the fan is off..

is this a very difficult task. I do know some basic electrical home wiring and have a good level of "electrical tinkering ability "

what else will I need to make these two units to do what I want

You should try to figure out exactly what they do. Subject them to temperature changes and see if they power on/off how you want them too.

Get back to me with a schematic about how they work and I can give you a wiring diagram of a relay that should do what you want it to do.

Be safe
