DMSO as a direct solvent for Cannabis

Hello All,

I'm looking for information using DMSO as a direct solvent for a whole cannabis extraction, theoretically by doing multiple extractions over time you could make a concentrate that could then be used in a variety of ways without alcohol.

I've used dmso to enhance penetration for topical preparations, but haven't yet tried to use it directly to extract the cannabinoids and essential terpenes. Just checking to see if anyone has any experience with it used in this manner.

i have read a few such reports but most reported rash and irritation at the patch site.... BE VERY CAREFUL WORKING WITH DMSO.... any toxins on your skin or on any of the equipment you are using will be allowed to enter you body readily. any carcinogens will have an especially strong crack at the genetic functioning at the patch or spill site.... working with DSMO with out proper precautions is really courting long term disaster.

oh and minimal therapeutic benefit was reported by those trying to use it for dirrect on site medication of arthritis and the like.

most cannabinoids in cannabis need to be metabolized to recieve their full effects, i agree DMSO is a bad idea.
