Get out of there Grant....people burn up good!

I can't remember if you had posted why there were so many fires there?
Can you fill us (or me) in?

Thanks Much,
Green Medicine

I'd have to say that alcoholism and bad parenting are the culprits. What frightens me is that arson is one of the steps towards being a serial killer.

It's a sad sad world we live in...

Why not? I LIKE IT! No I haven't always lived here, Kelowna and Vancouver are my other long term "homes". They were worse...just in different ways.

I used to live just a few blocks from Grant.

Kids go around torching the garbage bins, empty houses, etc. out of sheer boredom (or maybe some sort of gang initiation? *shrug*)

Then there are all the drunks and druggies, who scream and argue to the wee hours of the morning. They also have some "interesting" accidents during the day (like totalling a lone parked car on a 4-lane road because they apparently can't see where they're driving. Or maybe they thought they should be following the parked car.)

The area is as close to "inner city" as I've seen in Canada, short of driving through Jane & Finch in Toronto a few years back.

I can't say as I ever felt "threatened" by the area, Grant. Just disgusted at the antics of a lot of locals.

Now certain parts of Philadelphia were another story entirely. There are a couple real good hispanic restaurants in north Philly near Cambria, but you better make sure you pay off the guy who offers to watch your car. ;)
