My Beloved Sarah

It is with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I type this.

Tomorrow, already a somber occasion, is the sad anniversary of the death of my dearest, and wounded-heartedly, sadly departed blonde ray of sunshine.

She was taken from me at two, and lost her life senselessly to a drunk driver at the tender age of 4.

I am happy that in her short life she knew no pain, no heart-ache, no loss so profound it affects my every day.

I carry her in my heart and mind and remember the good times.

That as a parent, as I lost my Sarah, that in itself is one of the greatest hurdles of my life. That she will never know the joys that life has to offer is another. I've had many uncontrolled crying days rehashing what I had no control over.

She has and does make me strong too. That part of her that is in my hind brain and frontal cortex gives me energy to fight with !

We survive them and to not do honour to them is to forget them.

A strange and solemn lonely fight of my life.
