NEATO and HOORAY! I got a call this AM from my "digital media and communications provider". They asked if I had any problems lately (which I have) and if I would be interested in pursuing it legally. HELL YES!!! was my reply.

I have DSLTV and the entire house is networked to it. TV, computers, and security system. Well they have informed me that everytime a port is scanned or maliscious content is tried to be sent to my network EVERYTHING GETS LOGGED and sent to RCMP Electronic Crimes Div.

Who, where, what, when and why....all on the books and WHO sent it.

With the latest attack on my system they are requesting that I press charges. Wow!

I think I will.

SaskTel has some pretty good network people, and they take their network security more seriously than most ISP's I've dealt with. I get far fewer attacks coming through their DSL link than I've had to deal with from any other ISP in the past 7-10 years. Even dialup links via Verizon (Delaware) let a lot more attacks through, both from within their network and from the general internet population.

Sasktel is waaaaaaay ahead of the competition. With home and commercial security on their network as well as TV, phones, internet it stands to reason that they would go after any threat that could damage all that equipment.

Not to mention shutting off a bank or business' alarm system by hackers. I'm glad they go for the throat and push for criminal charges.

Maybe the rcmp set the whole thing up.
