this morning our house was awaken by the ringing of the phone. i could her my wife running up the stairs trying to calm a man down on the phone. The man was desperately looking for a number to get ahold of his step daughter. after he told us why i can COMPLETELELY understand why he was looking for it and didn't know what it was.
its with great sadness that i am announcing the passing of a fellow exemptee.
sheila wasn't an online TY member but was a federal exemptee. Sheila wasn't a TY member because of the cost of owning a computer and being online. she just didn't have the resources to be able to join us her.
although my son has known sheila for many years, he is a friend of her daughters, i didn't get to know her until about 2 years ago. i met her while she was in court battling cultivation charges for growing her medicine illegally.
although she had a letter of support from her doctor to use cannabis to battle her illness, the courts still put her under house arrest for 4.5 months. by the time this sentence was over she had joined us as an exemptee.
Sheila was battling a disease that had taken over her body for many years without her knowing. it was just within the last few years that she was aware that she had become a victim to her illness.
her battle is over now and her illness has won this battle but in time WE as people will win the battle over terrible illness's that are passed onto us without even knowing. an illness that we believe people were watching for but really weren't until it was exposed.
sheila wanted so much to get out and help others, she wanted to help educate people on the benefits of marijuana. she kept telling me "when i get better i'll join you" and i can say she was getting better. this past weekend while i and others were educating people at the home show my wife spent some time with sheila on the phone. sheila told her that she was feeling great and that she felt things were better.
maybe the "better" was the calm before the storm
your at peace now sheila, you will be missed by many
