Having Kids Made Me Give Up Smoking Pot, Admits Brad Pitt
Aug 16 2009
ACTOR Brad Pitt has revealed he has given up smoking cannabis - because of his kids.
The 45-year-old star, who has three adopted and three natural children with partner Angelina Jolie, revealed he had quit the habit on a US chat show.
Pitt, who is promoting his film Inglourious Basterds (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361748/), said: "I certainly had my day. Now it kind of turns me into a doughnut.
"I'm a dad now. You want to be alert and my eyes used to glaze over when I did that."

MARIJUANA ADVOCATE REVEALS PITT'S POT PAST -
A Los Angeles stoner guru has exposed movie hunk BRAD PITT as a one-time weed-smoking beach bum, who used to live to get high.
Now a responsible dad of six, Pitt recently revealed he no longer smokes anything, but one old pal claims the actor used to boast of toting pot on movie sets with big-name co-stars.
Craig Z. Rudin, who used to run 2000 BC, the trendy drug paraphernalia shop Pitt once frequented, tells America's Globe tabloid, "It was no secret Brad liked to smoke pot. He was so open and honest about it. It seemed to me all he wanted to do was smoke weed, make movies and go to the beach.
"He'd come into the shop all the time. He came in once and was excited about smoking with one of his very big-name co-stars. 'We blaze (smoke pot) every day in his trailer,' Brad boasted. He had a huge grin on his face."
Rudin claims Pitt, who was once spotted wearing a T-shirt with 'I live for hemp' emblazoned on it, and a sweater bearing a large marijuana leaf printed on it, was such a fan of drug culture, he gave the crew of one film decorative bongs he'd bought from 2000 BC as gifts.
The marijuana advocate, who is now running for Mayor of Los Angeles, claims Pitt brought ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow into his Melrose Avenue store, but the actress was far from impressed.
Meanwhile, a longtime friend of Pitt's tells the Globe the movie hunk is much "clearer" now he's given up pot.
He says, "His whole life has changed since he stopped smoking pot. He found he was thinking clearer and feeling better."

I'm curious if he stopped smoking tobacco when he had kids. Tobacco is okay to maintain as a habit because it is legal, no matter its strong potential to be fatal.

I think the reason for declaring he has quit pot is for the benefit of people who are denied adoption because of past use. Quitting pot is not something you need to declare . You just stop smoking. Jerry

Celeb stoners like Brad Pitt and Snoop Dogg often publicly declair intentions to quit, especially when it relates to some family circumstance..... Do they need to? no but they do it anyway.

Then, today on Howard Stern, Quentin Tarantino admitted that when he met Brad @ Brad's place in France, to discuss Brad's part in the upcoming "Inglorious Basterds" Brad whipped out a slab of hash for them to enjoy til 3am.
If the movie opens this week, that would have to have taken place over a year ago.
Tarantino also mentioned that Brad's place in France is the same vineyard where Pink Floyd recorded The Wall in a little studio on the property!

One would not have the time to list all the Hollywood celebs who toke regularly. BTW, the late Carl Sagan was a toker, although I don't have any idea how much he did. It is said that Carl Sagan once quipped that he wished he had a pen and paper handy when toking, because he would soon forget his cannabis-induced sparks of insight. This is true.:D

If Brad Pitt Smokes Weed ...
By Naomi Serviss
Anyone who watched Brad Pitt on Bill Maher’s show Friday learned some unexpected news: Brad smokes dope. Or used to.
Apparently this somewhat inarticulate hunk (Who cares how he talks? ... Just sit there and look pretty!) has a party past that includes being the perfect joint-rolling machine. As Bill Maher teased him about “being on the floor” at some A-list party, Brad (we’re on first name basis, at least on my end) was not just known for his Greek-god looks and acting chops, but his pot-rolling prowess.
So why is this news? When Jon Stewart and others in the fake news genre mention the “dangerous drug” on television, audiences roar and clap with approval. And it’s all in good fun, America.
With a serious message behind it.
Because it’s time the regulatory commission wakes up and smells the Mary Jane. Not only is it deemed permissible (in certain states) for chronic illness and pain, it is apparently the go-to party favor. Who knew? And apparently audience members of “news” shows aren’t Shocked! Shocked! by their fave celebs’ choice of relaxation or medical needs.
I’m not saying folks should or shouldn’t partake. But if it’s a known pain-killer for those in chronic distress, what’s the big deal?
Remember the Roaring '20s? Me, neither. But cocaine was legal in that way-back machine. Just ask a musician from those days, (if they can remember). Maybe that wasn’t such a great idea, but medicinal MJ (not Michael Jackson) is here, folks, get used to it. What is problem?
When are impoverished state budget dictators and federal regulators going to wake up and tax this age-old herb? Isn’t this a no-brainer?
Feds: Don’t punish the growers and partakers, do what you do best: tax and spend on this cash cow that keeps on giving. Think of the infrastructure that can be shored up, schools improved and quality of life issues benefited by state-wide legalization.
I don’t condone or judge the hoi polloi or Hollywood candy unafraid to “out” themselves. But isn’t it time to legalize a natural medication that does, in fact, ease the pain of cancer patients, MS sufferers and even presidents, whether they inhaled or not?
Maybe Montel Williams (a MS patient and cannabis supporter), Brad and other stratosphere stars could release a song, “We are the Weed.” And spend the proceeds on lobbying Congress and help out New Orleans at the same time.
And Brad would most likely be elected mayor of one of his “home bases” in what’s left of N’awlins.
I don’t care if they can’t carry a tune, it would put the glee back in this grassy-eyed glee club. And fans, too.

Quentin Tarantino and Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt no longer a stoner? Naw, Quentin Tarantino says that's not true.
Pitt said last week on Bill Maher's "Real Time" that while he had been something of an "artist" when it came to rolling a joint, he'd quit that lifestyle years ago for the sake of his kids.
But Tarantino, on the Howard Stern show Monday, said Pitt offered him cannabis on a recent trip to France.
Promoting his new film "Inglourious Basterds," the director on Monday claimed the actor uses the drug on occasion to help him relax.
Tarantino said the 'coolest' thing his colleague, who also stars in the film, did during their meeting to discuss Brad's role was 'pull out a brick of hash' and give him a piece of it.
He wenton to say that Pitt, a father of six, gave him a soda can to use as a pipe.
Tarantino responded: 'Yeah, I know what to do with this.'
