what it would take to set up a profeshional grow?
this would be submitted to an insurance co. that is requesting my needs.
im doing it but its such a pain, the smell, time, costs! everything is killin me! i can not even keep a steady supply. im allowed 3 adult and 4 immature plants. i am unable to do it due to so many aspects of my present problems.
if you could find it in your hearts to help this mentally crippled soul, you would definatley go down in the good book of karma!
please just serious replies.
every aspect from the walls to the exhaust
in a basement with 2 concrete walls and 8' ceilings
heat, light, energy costs, the insurance co. will need a complete list and explanation for the use.
i hope im not askin to much. i do have a litter from my insurance co. asking for the supplies needed.

I grant two personal production licenses currently on my property, but actually I am their gardener.

Can you send me the letter (PDF) or just send me a message re-typing what they are requesting. I believe even if you provide said information, they may still say that they don’t want to cover you, or that the premium will be to high so that you can’t afford it. If you wish you don't have to discloe your address or personal info to me. Do you own or rent? Is it a house or apratment or something else?

Do not worry BP. As long as the city says it is safe then there should be no issues with regard to damage, fire, mold, etc. So you may have to do so with out insurance if that is an option. If not, you could also not disclose it to underwritter. Or if disclosed, just wait it out and see what they say after providing.

I have a large grow that I haven’t disclosed to my insurance provider. I feel my space is beyond code and we are friends with our city inspector. As long as you keep an eye on everything it should be fine.

From what you are also saying is that you grow small, how many watts are your indenting to use. How many plants are you licensed to hold and how do you want to grow, hydro, soiless. I will be able to assess your energy consumption, electrical out let placement and venting/cooling issues based on your response.

Are you canadian?

If so, I believe you don't even have to disclose said information. It is your right to keep your medicinal needs private. You may be able to use that card. Also, I am assuming you are a residential grower, so the scale should not be there concern. As long as city inspects they should keep quite. No diffrent then installing a new jacuzzi or putting in a gas range in your kitchen. Needs to be installed to code then inpsected.

Man, illegal growers make it difficult for the legal ones. I also hate insurance in canada, what a scam and the media always depicts us in a negitive light, giving insruance providers these ideas of danger and claim concerns.

I believe it is for Health insurance to cover the cost, Correct me if I am wrong here BP. I know you have been in long discussions with your Health insurance regarding covering the MMJ. The wording of the letter they sent you would help a lot. and as far as equipment, it depends on the space, grow method, and how automated you want everything. you can start small, but I would aim to have them pay for the most stuff you can get them to pay for.

Then you can just add another box until you have achieved what you need to medicate. I.e. one for mothers and clones and one to flower out your strains.

Also easy to maintain and I think it would be cheaper for you in the long run.

1x fan and ducting $200 - $300
1x 1000w HPS light $400
6x large pots $30
2 bail Promix $70
1 general purpose chemical fertiliser $20
1 fish emulsion $15
1 Kelp Extract $15

Total $850.

If this is to much, then we can still get it down lower,
with a second hand 400w ballast and online ordered bulb ($90 all up)
and a bathroom fan modified for $50 including ducting. (Total $290)


Water by hand, take it slow and easy, and I can help. I could come by once a week to check on things, and when my licence comes through I can bring you clones ready to go.

the best that i cant do it's a strain to kill pain...
(i send some samples weed and bubble H but no more....dangerous for me)

Artisan, I totally understand where you are coming from. Please make future offers through PM, we don't want anyone in trouble, and we want to keep this site open for future generations. I went ahead and deleted any "rule breaking" remarks. Keep it to PM or an outside email, as much as we would like to be completly open...it's not legal and we need to take that consideration. I do understand your kindness and it is greatly appreciated here. We just need to be careful sometimes.

As for BP, I believe he probably has what he needs when it comes to the requested info. Alot of it depends on how he wants to grow and how much he feels he can take on...I know he has experience so I'll wait for some of his responses.

i need experience in ventalation heat neuts chem content water distilling and this is just the tip of the ice berg. i do have a limit of what i gan grow but i have no means what so ever. ive been growin for 8 yrs now and can grow a beautiful plant. using organics the come out beautiful. if i can leave them alont and not cut them cause i need relief from the pain!!
i do want to thank you. and good luck with the license.

I know you have experience growing, so I didn't want to assume anything...We all have what works best for us. This was for Health insurance right? correct me if I am wrong.
