BASIL-PRESTO- PESTO
[PEH-stoh] Italian for “pounded,” pesto is a uncooked sauce made with fresh basil, garlic, parmesan and my extra strength Carrie’s Canna olive oil recipe
GREAT FOR ALMOST ALL PASTA SAUCE’S,BREADS AND AS A GREAT MARINADE
FRESH BASIL,PACKED 2 CUPS
PINENUTS,TOASTED (WILL WORK W/ WALNUTS) ¼ CUP
GRATED PARMESAN OR RAMINO CHEESE ¼ CUP
EXTRA STRENGTH CANNA OLIVE OIL ½ CUP
GARLIC CLOVES 3-4
SALT ½ TSP
PEPPER(WHITE IF YA HAVE) ¼ TSP
PROCESS ALL INGREDIENTS WITH HALF THE OIL IN FOOD PROCESSOR OR BLENDER UNTIL FINELY CHOPPED.
WITH MOTOR RUNNING, SLOWLY ADD REST OF OIL IN A STEADY STREAM THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE LID OR FEED CHUTE UNTIL MIXTURE IS THICK AND GRAINY.
MAKES A LITTLE MORE THAN A CUP, EVERYONE’S DOSE IS DIFFERENT,BUT 2 TBSP IN MY BOWL OF PASTA DID THE TRICK.
