Hi guys,
I pre-vegged this girl in soil for 10 days, she was an emergency replacement for two other strains. She had her second set of leaves when i put her in, and i put her in with a bit of soils till on the roots which shocked her a bit. She was definately a runt. If id run her from hydro since day 1 I imagine this 10 days would of been three based on previous results..
I then vegged this girl for 10 days. She was about half the size she is now in physical dimensions however i imagine she had about 1/3 the biomass.
Starting to produce the oily skunk smell despite my huge carbon filter on top of cabinet.
By my judgements I flipped at the perfect time (about 60% of net filled) for this strain, and I'm shooting for the 452g harvest. Which will sure help stop the 10k i've spent on cannabis a year for the last 6 years to stay medicated.
I've noticed the only real reports of this mentioned a low potency however to me this could just mean a more functioning strain. I'm hoping to grow it to its maximum potential :)
Currently at 1050 ppm, PH 5.5.
Using Canna classic nutes, Cannazym & Superthrive through veg do build bacteria on the sunken clayballs at the bottom of dwc. I'm also using Canna Boost and plan to add molasses during the last 2 weeks. (based on a side by side that showed positive results from both)
There is a very slight lightness to the growth tips however given the ridiculous pace at which she is growing it could just be the fresh growth maturing. If you think otherwise let me know!
HBC.

i would personally start adding molasses from week 2 of bloom its a great carbo booster imo..they look fine so far mate..

Day 16 of flowering
Almost filled the net. Timing is looking spot on at this stage.
Rubbing the stems I can smell a nice sweet citrus odour.
Without the screen shed be a tall bugger xD.

Still fingers crossed the net fills out.
The bud development is decent for 4 days. Their moving faster then expected.
This is my first scrog, do you guys reckon i keep pulling them under , or just try to get the best canopy with what ive got now and tieing down later.
I've got the nutes at really high 1300ppm, only a few tips burnt.

they are looking good so far mate but ive never done a sog grow but plan to..i would continue pulling the branches through the net if the are under it..is there just 1 plant & are you growing hydro as ive been advised to not use molasses in my hydro system but canna boost which you have or a simulair product.cant wait to see them fill out a bit they should start to put a lot of weight on in the next few weeks.

Looking good, but even with SCROG I would hesitate to do any more pruning than absolutely necessary (which is usually none, except for 100% dead fan leaves)....even the shadowed fan leaves store sugars & nutrients, aspirate/transpirate exhaust gases and toxins, help move waste material away from the most vital parts of the plant, etc.
I would lift the screen while the plants are still not yet too entangled....and if you can, spread the plants out wider. One option in limited space would be to move a couple of the plants outdoors since by now you should be able to keep outdoor plants in veg almost anywhere on the planet....then space out the remaining indoor plants more widely.
If that isn't practical in your case, then I would still not resort to pruning. Low-stress training (LST) could be a good choice here.

Hey she's a single plant, not ideal but a result of not having mothering stock setup properly.
Not sure where you heard molasses bad for hydro? i know there was an icmag side-by-side comparison with boost vs molasses vs boost + molasses together and the boost + molasses won out the grow for yield vigour and biomass.
It may have something to do with the ability to clog lines however with a single tub bubbler and 8 airpumps circulating the water vigorously it may be alright. Ill definately research it though thanks.

I'm a big supporter of not trimming fan leaves if they block light, however for fan leaves that are going yellow , and are typically the oldest on the plant i remove them as they are a target for infection (mould, bugs, fungus) from what ive read online. I think you know the ones im talking about.
With this single plant scrog i have needed to trim a couple of healthy fan leaves that were jamming themselves into some buds but thats it.
I stopped pulling the tips under as they were begging to be let through the screen and only an inch or two left and right proximity of screen isnt full. So once shes grown through i can spread the buds a bit maybe.
Thanks for the replies guys.

Lemon skunk is quoted as "a little bit stretchy" and many seem to think so as well
What ive got stretched no more then 50% of its own size, and stopped stretching at about 18 days so never had a chance to grow through. This is great because it means she can run alongside my compact bush GHS Cheese indica pheno 1-1 and i shouldnt have to mess with training :). Shes happy on highish nutes like the cheese too. (cheese is my favorite strain of all strains to date)
What this means now is that a lot of my bud growth is under the screen and the entire plant is only using about 1/3 of the height allowed lol.
Im REALLY tempted to get some sciccors and start removing the bits of screen that arent holding any branches down to make sure that bottom growth isnt seperated. See what i mean from the photos. in fact to me it seems logical if i remove it completely and let the thing grow as a bush with a few bits of string ill be fine. This phenotype looks like it packs on the weight over the plant regardless of height of internode
In fact, if you look at the plant it doesnt seem to even need the screen, its almost like its use is finished now the plants been shaped.
Any ideas (and a brief explanation why) on what to do with the screen would be appreciated.
Oh and i just flushed tank for this all important time frame.
My TDS probe is broken but by using a ppm calculator im at about 1100ppm (eutech) Their tips browned off at what would of been about 1300 previously.
PK 13/14 added 1ml per litre
Canna Boost added 1ml per litre
PH 5.5-5.8 (if its in that range i leave it)
Whoa the muffin i baked from vapor/bubblehash leftovers butter just hit me *zoink*

What do you think about the buds under the screen scenario?
As it stands im going to wholesale remove redundant netting tomorrow night, and just leave whats absolutely necessary to keep her in place.
