USE OF MARIJUANA IS BIBLICAL AND SHOULD BE LEGAL

I agree with Robert Sharpe's letter calling for credible drug law reform ( Close "Gateway" To Hard Drugs By Legalizing Marijuana, May 4 ), but I disagree that, "drug policy reform may send the wrong message to children."

It is important for children to know where the Bible stands on the cannabis issue because of the brainwashing effects of people saying cannabis is evil. It is Biblically correct to re-legalize cannabis ( known as kaneh bosm, before the King James Version ).

It's no accident the Bible indicates God created all the seed-bearing plants and said they were all good, on literally the very first page. The only Biblical restriction to cannabis is that we use it with thanksgiving - see 1 Timothy 4:1-5 - where it also describes who will promote its prohibition as those who have fallen away from the faith.

The U.S. government would like people to think cannabis is a chemical weapon of mass destruction. In reality, the table of the Lord is not defiled. See Malachi 1:6-14, subtitled "Sin of the Priests" ( New American Standard Bible ).

The right message to children is that society must stop caging humans for using what Christ God Our Father, the Ecologician, says is good.
