Red hairs

Damndest thing - red LED light gave me red hairs like crazy on my weed.

Anyone else experience this? It also wasn't terribly potent.

are you sure it was the lights,lots of afghan mixes can show pink and or red pistils,potency is built in genetics,you really have to abuse this plant to loose potency,peace,any other led users see this ,just wondering?

It could be the strain too I suppose - but I think I had a few other plants from the same seed stock that had no red hairs and did have visible trichomes (that weren't visible on the plant that was under the LED).

Yeah it's possible - it was an indica and it was pulled at about 8 weeks.

The red hairs were totally freakish. They arrived by the 2nd week into 12/12, long before the crop was ready.

Of course red light will disrupt flowering, what did you expect? I have seen the red led on a plug and grow cycle stat cut through plants like a laser. On a light sensitive breed, the plants stretched at hight of the led over about 2 feet wide and male flowers popped right at these sites.

Yeah I don't know - I'm using the same red light this time to augment a 400 W HPS light - we'll see how it works.

The red / blue combination light is quite commonly used/sold for bloom.

just because they are commonly sold doesnt meen they are good

I hear you Bob, but remember I didn't post this thread asking for your or anyone's approval for my using LEDs, or for vague critique on my choice of lighting. Your comment doesn't piss me off, but it also doesn't pertain to my question, so it's just noise.

I posted because I wanted to know if anyone had the same result with the red hairs - simple.
