Getting an Avitar or picture.

What is the process to get a Avatar? Where do the pictures come from, and how do you get a personal or other picture made in to an Avatar? :o

an avatar basically comes from images that have been resized down to an accepted universal size such as 100 x 100 pixels or 80 x 80.

One can search for images via Google and use a photo editor to resize and adjust the resolutions of the pixels so that it'll come out clear in the resized resulting image.

These avatars are usually saved as ".gif" or ".jpg" format.

If you need some avatars, pm me and I'll direct you to a site to choose from. (mj-related that is).

I used an Avatar Sizer program to re-size my avatar, there's a few out there, I used this one, free unless you wish to donate:

Using GIF formated avitars allows for animation.

Even if the avitar you use is not animated, you can always add animation to it later without the worry of resolution loss during file conversion from jpg to gif format. Just something to consider.
