I have just started " The Ultimate"....

by Dutch Passion. These seeds were purchased in person by me at the treating Yourself Expo for $55.00 for 5 femenized seeds. I have them under a dome in rapid rooters covered with a thin layer of moistened pro mix in trays.:cool:
The seeds were placed in a shot glass of water for 24 hours to moisten them and get a jump start on germination.
The seeds were then planted 1/4 inch into moistened rapid rooters covered in pro mix and then misted every other day.
As of day 3 we have sprouts starting to show signs of life......

I expect a 100% germination rate and have only sprouted 3 out of 5 seeds on day 11 in a misted dome in the same as in the pictures. The last time I germinated seeds I had 49 pop out of 50. It makes me think that the seed stock may not be as fresh as I was led to believe.

I do however have 3 seeds sprouted and the second set of true leaves has started to show. I hope to get at least one strong candidate to join my strainbase. We shall see but had I not been a master grower germination would probably be much harder to achieve....so right from the get go I am warning to beware of freshness.:eek: :eek:

so that gives me 80% or 4 of 5 popped. I am good with that. So far the little seedlings have very wide little leaves. This is good as I like the heavy Indicas. I fed last night for the first real feeding of veggie food.

I started them out with 5ml/litre of Hesi Root Builder and Propagator plant starter foods.

For veg I will be using the free sample of Medi-One nutrients I recieved at the TY Expo in July.:cool:

Hey Pete was your seed pack from Dutch Passion taped shut? Just asking because I bought a 5 pack of Ortega from them and the original pack had been opened and taped back shut. I didn't notice till I got home and never got a chance to ask DP about that. My buddy bought a 5 pack of Power Plant from them too, and same thing had been re-sealed with tape.
4 out of 5 germinated for me, and my friend hasn't planted his seeds yet.

I had major water problems here but have it all sorted out now. The Ultimate 1,2,3 and 4 are in 5 gallon buckets and have been fed Advanced Nutrients ConnyA+B, Sensizym, Voodoo Juice, Bud Candy, Rhino Skin,B-52, and have also recieved their first dose of Bud Ignitor.:D :D

I have The Ultimate 1,2,3, and 4 at just over 2 feet tall and am happy to report they are also on R/O water between ferts.

C02 is kept at a constant 1500ppm's during daylight.
Temps run high 80's during lights on and low 70's at night.:D
Humidity is below 50% at all times.
A sulpher burner keeps powdery mildew at bay.

These plants are in 5 gallon buckets with 1 inch of hydroton clay balls on the bottom. I use pro mix HP and tomato cages make propping up the plants much easier.:cool:

These Ultimate, Kings' Kush and Black Kush plants will end up in the big part of my flowering area after 28 days or 4 weeks.
There they will finish flowering in another 28 days.
That way I can manage the way I fertilize in a much more precise way,as bigger plants get more ferts.:D
By the way,,,,,all plants have been labled and numbered so as to be able to differentiate between each phenotype. I will choose perhaps the 2 best unless they are all different and outstanding.:eek: :eek:

You pay good money for 5 seeds from a reputable seed company(Dutch Passion, $72.00 for 5 supposed female seeds) and you go in person and you still end up with shit!!

On day 9 I found my first hermaphrodite of the 4 Ultimate, that were vegged to 2 foot tall plants, that I had sprouted out of 5. So now we are at 60% females sprouted.
Buyer beware on this one for sure.
I do seem to have 3 Ultimate phenotypes going as of now though.
The main reason for the femmed seed is a better chance of getting ALL females. Sex is not cut in stone as the various genes of all the different strains makes for quite a mix.
If growing for strains then female seeds are a great way to introduce fresh genes into your grow.
Do not use all female seeds and expect all plants to end up females. That is rarely the case. You will have to keep an EAGLE EYE OPENED at all times for hermies and males. I cull them as I see them.
I am still happy that I do have the 3 Ultimate and 2 Kings' Kush left in day 10 of flower. I also had to cull 2 Black Kush hermies to leave me at 2 Black Kush still looking great in flower at day 10. The bud Ignitor seems to have jump started them.

They look like beautiful plants Pete. I bought some Oasis at the Hemp Expo in Toronto this past July and they are some excellent meds. I have also grown their Power Plant with good results.
