This forum will be run by the folks at INDOOR GARDEN SOLUTIONS who are based out of Toronto and is owned and operated by a licensed grower who has won 1st and 3rd place at last years Treating Yourself Seed Company Cup.

You will be able to get a better price from IGS than you would at your local hydro shop.

So visit their web site and see what they have to offer. If you send them an email make sure that you tell them that you are a member of TY

I'll just stick to my local guy we get a better discount anyway and its much easier to ask for help and return anything. Support local business and spend a extra dollar or two.

Yea well it's always good to support your local guy and there are plenty of locals here on TY that can benefit from dealing with IGS. You guys in the USA get all kinds of deals that we just don't see up here in Canada.

Hi,
Another vendor that is offering the same service to medical growers is a Toronto and St.Catherines based company called GrowFlux.
I have been dealing with Diego and the service is top notch.
He offers local deliveries, and replied to all my questions within 24 hours.
His prices are reasonable, for example, a month ago I wanted to add some space and picked up a new 600W HID set up.
Brand new I got a 600W dimmable Lumatek Ballast, 6inch air cooled reflect (the kind with the cool tube built in, not the kind with the shitty plate of plastic over the entire reflector), and a sunmaster hps and a horticultural MH600W bulb for 280.00 cdn and he threw in a bottle of Bud Ignitor for another 40 bucks.
I used to be involved in international trade, imports and exports, that sort of stuff, and prior to him forming a partnership and opening up his business, I was involved with his partner, who is a good and reputable business man.
cheers and happy growing/saving

its always good to see someone within the community reaching out to help others. its those within it that understand the requirements of us that may need it. many businesses are in it for the money while others like IGS are licensed people and can/may understand things better.

if they were winners at the TY Expo then they must know a thing or two i would say.

All of my supplies....bubble buckets, airators, and chillers.....i think the light as well....I ended up only finding what we needed in California.....and I'm in northern bc there is no hydroponics store......wish i had know of the canadian suppliers.

Supplies can get hard to get up here.

You can also try these B.C. suppliers, who ship Canada wide; I've had great experiences with both:

Progressive Growth (http://www.progressive-growth.com/)

Valley Indoor (http://www.valleyindoor.com/home.php)

Anyone got a link for GrowFlux?

Ontario suppliers I've bought from (and would again) are:

Bustan (http://www.bustan.ca/)

Brite-Lite (http://hydroponix.com/en/html_en/body_stores.html)

Green & Clean (http://www.greenandclean.ca/index.htm), a great source for predatory insects.

Given the mark up at most hydro shops some items are often less expensive when purchased elsewhere. Buckets can also be sourced from Lowes as their grey store brand 5G are light proof, totes are handy for a number of uses as well; float valves are generally less expensive from a hardware or plumbing supply shop. R/O fittings are easily sourced from plumbing suppliers, as is potable water grade tubing. For nute and drain lines I prefer Green Line hose (G901Y series, from Progressive Growth); local suppliers can be found on the Green Line website:

Green Line (http://www.greenlinehose.com/catalogs.htm)

I find that blue silicone air lines are easier to run than the hard black plastic, get them from a pet supplier like:

Mail Order Pet Supplies (http://www.aquariumsupplies.ca)

Irrigation connectors generally seem to work better than air line tubing connectors and I use them on both nute and air lines. Deep Water Innovations micro pore air diffusers are much cheaper in the States, so I look for the sales through the find.

The Find (http://www.thefind.com/pets/info-micropore-air-diffuser)

Does anyone in Canada know of a cost efficient source of 200 - 300L reservoirs that will work with a DWC system? I'm looking for something that is built along a horizontal axis in order to avoid having to use valves to control nutrient solution depth in my buckets as the less moving parts, the less likelihood of problems.

airedog, I happen to live in an aggriculture area and often find deals in local farm supply shops and co op's etc.
a couple examples... 30lbs of ebsom salt for $15 at local co op, or those sticky bug traps, a big sheet of it (about 16"x24" used for horse stalls) which are easily cut down to smaller strips for $6 at TSC a farm supply store. Also some farmers operate as distributors for various things right on their farms, one sells irrigation supplies, lines, tubeing, buckets, tanks etc.
