Hello folks!
We'll here are some pictures of Northern Skunk bud after a good month of curing. Smoke echoes what has been said in previous threads, VERY good, rich, balanced and STRONG cannabis of the highest caliber.
Also a pic with some clones from the first run of NB and one of the phenos being flowered at the moment.
Great strain that somewhat slows down during the first weeks of flowering and tend to stretch if given too much N during budding.
Use quality soil (Floragard is excelent), repot one week before inducing flowering, maintain a PH of 6.3 and never feed more than 400 ppm (only if plants ask for it).
ALL I have tested from PeakSeeds has been superlative!

Ain't she a long legged gal..!
I was under the impression she was somehow a medium to short type of business.
One thing I didn't mention was the fact that all twelve clones I took from different plants rooted in a week.
No wander this cross is such a classic!

hey Ojorojo I like your Colosseum. Is that a six hundred hps with t5 tubes on the outside? Plants look great.

Hello!
Yes indeed, it is a 600W HPS... but I switch to a 400W HPS when outside temps go up to 85F or more. I am not using any supplemental source of light at the moment. Those white tubes are actually the support pole of each grid or screen used to train each plant.
I was smoking a nice "skunkish" Northen Skunk pheno I just finished curing and WOW... it goes to the heart and fills you with joyful bliss... Sooo nice to be by yourself, listening to music and checking all these nice canna sites.
MJ... if you are out there (you lurker you) please consider an offering of Northern Skunk x Blueberry ! I tell you it would be nice to find out what comes out.

I think there should be a move to recognize MJ as a National Living Treasure, like they do with potters in Japan.

Hello,
Today I did some changes to the set up in order to optimize lighting, improve air circulation and reduce temps.
It seems that 600W HPS is too rich for this strain (not hot blooded Sativa lumen sluts) and it results in stress and delayed growth and flowering vigor.
I am using two 400W HPS and spaced out all pots. Seedlings are under the hot zone and are hardening... they are Flaca seeds and love the light.
Two fans are taking care of the 400Ws nicely. Got them today folks! LOL
Several pots might have to be watered tomorrow... we'll see if that ever important dry top inch of soil tells me to go ahead.
So far so good and hope this changes suit my girls.

Northern Skunk is a super strain! Easy to grow, light feeder, clones like magic and gives you very strong medication.

^^^ Thank you so much!
Today it was time for watering... used plain water at 6.3-6.5 ph and gave each gal a nice flush (25%) since soil is borderline hot. I guess too much of a good thing but so far no burns or deficiencies are noted.

Fully cured Northern Skunk goodness...
This one took after the NL side of the family, very nice fruity/pine taste and great relaxation.

Anyway just love your grow reports ojorojo, keep em coming.

Hey there folks!
One of the very few things I dislike about vertical light is how it tends to cause leafs to fold in order to catch main and strong reflected light. They look droopy to some degree; I favor the perky whole leaf light reaching profile we see with horizontal settings.

Hello,
I am letting the grow continue with two 400W HPS and maybe will switch to MH during the last two weeks.
Flowering is on its way and I am still just giving them plain water adjusted with phosphoric acid. Seedlings are doing fine and hope to have the house "empty" by the time they need more space.

These plants are clones taken from the first run. The thing is that I still have a handful of PeaksSeeds gear waiting in line for a test ( Northern Lights, Kush Berry and Northern Berry ).
I will test all strains and take notes. Then re order those that agree with my present needs and hunt for the right pheno during vegetative stage.
PeakSeeds have many keepers... No worries brother!

I just don't know what to make of it...? Could take it either good or bad; you folks decide...:
Two of my friends have suffered "whities" from Peak's Northern Skunk. I am talking sweats, specially upper lip and forehead; they had trouble breathing and became very pale/pasty looking.
One just took it like a champ and remained completely quiet for the rest of ride... just breathing deeply once in a while.
The other had to vomit three times... just to have huge munchies half hour later (he ate and was great); he couldn't explain how quick he recovered.
Friends, be on the conservative side while testing this strain...
Needless to say both friends can't wait to give it another go... this time on the "light" side of the moon... LOL
Thanks for entertaining this post and may God bless you all, loved ones and gardens!

Hello Friend!
Thank you for stopping by.
The fans are cooling the lights nicely, you can grab each light by the socket and just feel it warm.
This effect is increased by the fact that above these floor fans I placed the main extractor. Kind of push/pull system.
MJ, your seeds provide precious relief and solace... and for that I thank you!

Hello friends!
It looks like I have entered the last two weeks of flowering... so far just sticking to PH adjusted tap water.
Please keep in mind that these plants were taken from last NS run and were kept under less than optimal conditions as clones. I had to keep them alive but just surviving since moms were still flowering.
The Sat dom plants are easy to spot and smell like skunky sweet coffee!
The Indica dom give away delicious scents of ripe mango and grapefruit.
Can't wait to try Kush Berry !

Hello friends!
It seems that this coming week will be the harvest... besides, the 17th is full moon.
I will reveg one of the plants and use her as mother. She is the less picky, with zero hermi traits and a nice mango/grapefruit smell.
She looks like a nice see of green stout, mind warping option:

Thank you so much friends!
You see, in the past I had issues with harsh smoke and black ashes due in part to wrong PH and higher than needed fert concentrations.
For this run I made the decision of mainly using just PH'd (5.8 -6.2) tab water, chlorinated. Also applying phosphoric acid as PH down, it does help flowering nicely.
I did give them some 10-30-20 at 400 ppm once during bud set, then one light foliar feed of 10-50-10 at 200 ppm later on to give pistils some last boost.
Other than those two cases it has been just Floragard soil straight from the bag, no perlite no nothing... just each pot sitting on a towel after watering sessions to prevent root rot and other crap... LOL
