Hello, TY community. I am happy to finally have login credentials for this forum (thanks, Marco!).
I am the lucky holder of the very first MMJ ID issued in Arizona. I'm also fortunate to have a second, summer home 2 miles from the grandkids:) just outside of Boulder, CO. This allows me to have an MMJ card there, as well.
I am a lifelong sufferer of Crohn's disease. I was finally, properly diagnosed with Crohn's in an Army hospital in Berlin, Germany in 1972. That was also my first use of cannabis. A night nurse took sympathy on my insomnia and pain and shared some of his Lebenese blond with me. I was then shipped back to the US with a bad case of Crohn's and the new knowledge of the positive impact that cannabis had ON THE ROOT CAUSES of my disease, but with no clue whatsoever about how to go about acquiring such a wonderful, natural remedy. I then had a bowel resection in 1974 that removed 45 cm of ileum, the ileo-cecal valve, the cecum and 3 cm of colon. During this time, I was a student at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. I no longer had a problem sourcing my meds. My Crohn's has been more or less under control since then. But it's a daily thing. If I'm off my meds (because, say, I can't get any at that moment), all the nasty stuff comes back.
I came across TY through Michelle Rainey (I never met her, but I really miss her nonetheless). I found her during my endless search for additional knowledge re cannabis and Crohn's. Thank you Marco and the rest of the TYers for making this such a great resource. It means more to me than I can properly express in words.
