a bit of help from you guys, for those of you who have a moment to spare.
I've uploaded images of my latest artwork and made a few file changes. The original file sizes were huge and I think the download was a slow one for anyone without highspeed access. (I have cable).
I think I have successfully resized the pics, but would like opinions from folks about how the page downloads.
ps. don't expect picasso or van-gogh... It's just me, and my stoned musings.

the page downloaded very quick for me....nice pics...kind of a folk artie thing...I recently broke my Ankh...broke my heart too...was looking for something in my too be packed pile.
I have 500Kbps DSL and still gave up on waiting for the page to load after a couple of minutes (only the first 3 images had loaded.) You should be able to compress images that size to 40-50Kb and still have excellant image quality (set the JPG quality control to 80-85%.)

Connected at 36k total page load time was 5 minutes. Guides,Oros, and table however did not fully load. I imagine they would load fine on a refresh though.

any tips for a virtual dummy as to how to compress images?
Download and install Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/), and use it to open the picture you want to compress.
The menu item Image/Resize is used to resize the picture.
Do "File/Save As" and select "JPG - JPEG Files" for the "Save as type" choice box. Make sure "Show options dialog" is checked, and you should see a dialog window named "JPEG/GIF save options."
Just adjust the slider to 80-85%, and optionally check off "Save as progressive JPG."
Type in your new file name, and click Save.
P.S. The pictures loaded much faster today. Maybe the server was overloaded when I'd been trying earlier, though I still think 200K is much too big for such small images.
