female seeds

I read somewhere that you can tell which seeds are male and which are female just by looking at them. is there any truth to this claim? If so, how do you tell?

I thought it was crazy but it was reinforced when I saw sites selling "100% feminized seeds"


I'm now thinking this refers to something else entirely.

Feminized seeds are out there, but I would have to think they appear identical to non-feminized..........so as far as being able to pick them visually........I have doubts....Also-- this is probably the reason they are double the cost -no males to play with--

what is a feminized seed? is there some way to make a plant produce only female seeds?

Dutch Passion used 100%female clones, applied a 'safe' chemical to force clones to develop abundant male flowers - then takes that pollen to put back on other females-- producing almost all female seeds

There are many reports of people "sexing" seeds by looking at the "dimple" on the seed where it attaches itself to the plant as well as the shape of the seed.

Every time I see this info, the person claims a very high success rate.
Every time I read about someone trying this technique in response....they cannot reproduce the poster's results!
