They are worth the extra money as they have added an enhanced blue spectrum along with the red. he he and happy growing!!! :D :D

I bought 1 last year and 2 hoods. The hoods just don't cut it compared to the cool tubes. They are better for spreading the light and are much more effiant. I had a problem with leaks always with the hoods.

Here is the original tube (yes the plants have been beaten). The second and third are as labeled. Hope this makes a BIG difference

I have had mine as close as 8 inches from the plants with no problems but keep in mind its also alot to do with your fan you have to be able to pull the air out pretty fast to keep em this cool i can touch my CT even after 12 hrs :)

Ebay has them and a few other places also ..but im not sure the run around 15- 20 bucks and is a wise investment if heat is an issue

Found a place in town that sells 1000W Eye Hortilux HPS bulbs, $600 for 6.
