That pretty much sums it up when it comes to my family doc and my specialist. I went in to see my specialist this morning to get bloodwork to see if THE TREATMENT worked. He comes in to the room I'm in and says in a very positive way, I bet you're feeling back to your old self by now, feeling 100% right? I tell him I feel much better but definitely not 100%. I tell him I have more energy but still have to pace myself, pains in my liver area, joint pains, and the itching has not stopped, in fact, worse in the hot spots of my body. Must be something else he says. See your family doc for those things. So, I say, I've had the liver pain before but it's worse now and I never had skin problems before treatment, other than the old hep-c itch but this itching is like a very sudden itchy bee-sting. I could scratch it for hours. Anyway, he smiles and shrugs and says, see you in 2 months. I never really had joint pain before either, but do now. That specialist couldn't get me out of that office fast enough. I had a few things I wanted to discuss, but he didn't even give me the chance.
The statistics have to stay positive I guess. What a bunch of B.S. None of this can be after-effects of treament can it (sarcasm)? I currently have rashes under my arms that are quite painful and swollen. Just coincidence? I don't think so. And I scratch my inner thigh and crotch area so much that I'm sure people are thinking I'm doing something else..lol. Never had asthma before and I do now. All this during, and after treatment.
And my family doc.....Mr. "I'm against methadone clinics therefore I won't help with your exemption" is basically schluffing me off too.
Having hep-c is frustrating when dealing with pharmy-paid docs.

It's hard to find a real Dr.( you know the one who actually cares about how the patient actually feels) So many are in it for the money. Kind-of like sports players now days. Not to open up another can. I got the same run-around when trying to explain the side effects of the Nuerontin, Oxycontin, and Hydrocodone. All at the same time. 36 pills a day, but according to my new Dr. this shouldn't cause any problems. RIGHT...... I hope this works out for you. Good luck. :(

I would have screamed bloody blue murder. Obviously the pharma regime he has you on is giving you side- effects and he seemed to lazy to deal with them.
If it's safe for you, take yourself off for a couple of weeks and you should know if it's the meds or not.
I'd be lookin' for another doc if I were you.

Just that statement alone tells me you have the wrong doctor. It sounds like you have doctor who is not going to make any effort to address the OBVIOUS side-effects you are experiencing. Most of these doctors are educated, about many of the meds they prescribe, by the detail people (Salesmen). Search on-line for whatever treatments, medicines, etc that were done to you before these symptoms appeared and I'm sure you will find the info that will be able to easily tell you if your having side effects from any treatments, meds etc.
Good luck. And start searching for another doctor

Actually, although the Neurontin isn't my favorite substance and has some lame side effects, often isn't very effective for most of the things it's prescribed for....combining Oxy and/or Hydro with it or each other shouldn't be any problem.

Ask your pharmacist for the list of side effects.
As for the itching - you may have an allergy to your own sweat because of the meds...
Try some benadryl - if that nixes the itching then thats whats doing it...

Man I know what your talking about. My first so called specialist after being diagnosed with hep c was only worried about weather I had any Ticks in my beard WTF I did have a beard down to my chest but hay it went with my hair. Any way Ive went through at least 5 specialistss 2 - 48wk TREATMENT things Finally one of them dont remember witch one sent me to Vanderbuilt University and this doc seems somewhat educated First thing she said was if I had seen you first I would not have recomended TREATMENT let alone 2 times in a row. She did tell me that I would have to as you said see my family doc for aftereffects of treatment because fed law wont let her treatment for drug side effects We are pretty close now she even explained to me how to clone my plants cool huh . Hope your TREATMENTS worked Prayer said for ya
