Hemp paper versus newspaper. All three items in the picture were put in the frame behind glass in the 1990's at the same time. One newspaper article, two business cards. One business card is made of hemp. Two cracks in the glass cross right over the Highwear Hemp business card boxed in red.
The picture says the rest....

Hemp card stock is very durable. I have had the same 100% unbleached hemp card from my attorney since 1992.....it's been thru hell - saltwater, food and I've been thru at least 5 wallets with this same card....
But the card survives! Tree paper would never last.
The ink is hemp based as well.

Actually, newspaper has chemicals in it that accelerate the breakdown of the paper, and many periodicals have similar chemicals that do the same. Non-bleached & acid free papers will last centuries if well cared for. Most likely the hemp card isn't treated with these chemicals.
Hemp does make great paper though, there's no doubt about that. Fibers are great for clothing or whatever. Great stuff.

Hemp rules !!!
Just imagine what we'd have available today if George Washington Carver had discovered the wonders of hemp instead of peanuts. Oh well, it worked out I guess.

The diff in those is incredible... How come businesses don't use it ? When I sort reciepts for the bookkeeper it is amazing how many have faded beyond readability and they have never been exposed to sunlight. Is this a conspiricy ? AL
