female seeds

has anyone tried one of these "female" seeds?? i noticed there are a few vendors but the prices are high. this may be my only option cause i can only grow when it's cool out. i have no central a/c or heating so it's a fall-spring setup.

what does female seeds have to do with it? i have grow female seeds from a friend who bred them using the late stage hermie method. all female, no hermies so far, good meds.
